I finally got around to installing my dual LED map lights and had a couple notes:

    • Installation was not quite as easy as comments here led me to believe. The first time I managed to plug both of them in with the positive and ground wires wrong so they didn't work, but after re-plugging them both in the right way they were fine. So more like plug-and-replug-and-play. A minor bump anyway
    • More concerning to me is the way they mount, the two mounts where the OEM map light lens pivots from (when you click them on/off), these ones don't pivot, rather when I press them in to turn them on/off the whole housing just bends instead. Not sure if this is the case for other units, but it's how mine are.

Nonetheless they are installed, working, and I'm happy with them. Really love being able to switch between white and red, a great feature to have when doing nighttime photography and/or astronomy stuff.

One last thought related to that: I would love to see dual red/white LED dome lights along the same lines as the dual map lights instead of this "ultimate dome light" thing. I'm not interested in something that I need to use an app on my phone with bluetooth to change the color. To my mind it's just an added inconvenience for the sake of functionality with no useful purpose. Just my two cents.

Possible considering I didn't even realize there was left and right. I just put mine in oriented with the colors in the same way it shows them on the demo video in the OP. I'll have to pull them again to see if there's a difference.

Maybe I'm just an idiot and it should be obvious, but I haven't found anywhere with any installation instructions to point out things like this.

Edit: I watched the install and review video at the bottom of the OP. He says he installed the passenger side first but makes no mention that they are side specific.

Normal for these not to work in cold weather? Mine won't turn on until the truck is on and warm for 15 min. I'm in Indianapolis so not extreme conditions.

Map lights or dome light? My dome light happened to have a loose connection in the bulb adapter when I got it. Got a few replacements from Meso and ended up soldering the two wires into the adapter to makes sure it was good

I definitely had this issue the first time I installed, usually means it's not quite snapped into place right. At first I was really disappointed, now that they're in properly and they're moving freely, they feel just as good as OEM. Be careful of the little plastic posts inside the overhead console, they'll snap with too much force.

Have a set of dual map lights $35 +shipping. Didn't like the white at all (to much light for me). Going all red.

There is a L on the Left one and a R on the right one. They are marked L or R on the post that hits the actuator to turn the map light on and off.

Don't need to read them all unless you're a masochist, but watch this thread for updates since he usually gives a heads up when they're in process. Then it's just a matter of getting in before they're gone again.
