I just installed 3rd Gen Bilstein 48510-04190 front shocks from a 2019 TRD OR(Ebay) onto my 2013 Prerunner TRD OR DC SB. The removed 2013 Bilsteins are 48530-AD051. I did not get the 3rd Gen springs- I reused my 2013 2nd Gen coil springs. The new 2019 work great, but assembled "struts" are 1 inch shorter(1 in more preload on spring) (piston only is shorter, shock body same). Effectively this gives the lower control arm about 2 inches less articulation(travel) when unloaded.(Does not effect height of truck at all) What gives?? other posts say the 2nd vs 3rd Gen geometry is the same and only talk about 3rd Gen springs are longer(which doesn't apply in my case.) I haven't found anything about this shock length issue?
