    Here it is.

The FRIDAY thread. (coz you know, the 3rd genners cometh)

But my answer is - keep the 2nd gen. If I found one that was decently priced when I was shopping, I would've picked that up.

Test drive the 3rd Gen to see if you like it, the Powertrain feels a bit different from a 2nd Gen

I find my 3rd is more comfortable than my 2nd, smoother ride and just a nicer overall experience imo.

As a 3rd Gen fanboy, keep the 2nd Gen. They're solid all around. The only thing new about the 3rd gen is a bit more negligible HP, and some tech options. Run that bad boy to the ground.

Don't do it.......I had a 2015 and made the mistake of selling it and buying the 2016. Couldn't take the drivetrain sluggishness among other things. I was willing to give up fuel economy to get out of it and ended up with the Ranger after four Tacomas, (the 2015 being the best) The Ranger outperforms the Tacoma in daily driving with much better fuel economy. (I get 22 in town and 27+ on trips) and other things I won't get into here.

I am glad the Ford was better than the 2016 Tacoma because I didn't really want to look for a 2015 that would not have the modern tech and safety features.

Glad to hear people like 2nd over 3rd. Have an 06 myself and took a risk knowing the headgasket issues.

LOL, and those 2nd gen fenders are hot.

I wonder how many will end up band because of this thread and the butthurt...

    Enjoy the show everyone!

Lol. I think people are taking into consideration the costs of new car ownership and the benefits vs cost. It’s not like everyone says “if everything were equal I’d get a 2nd gen.”

    All the things!
If you're even considering it, test drive, test drive and then test drive. Also, determine what's important to you... warranties, creature comforts, drivetrain, tech, looks... then make an educated decision based on your needs and desires.

Asking us is like asking us what you should eat for dinner. Our tastes will get in the way of a usable answer.

Are the 3rd gens lifted or level with the back than the 2nd gens stock?

Keep it if you're happy. I've had both, and I personally prefer my 3rd gen. My only complaint was the crappy shift logic, but a tune fixed that. Easy enough. It has more power, and better tech than the 2nd gen. Over all a more refined truck. I did like my 2nd gen as well, but I wouldn't think twice about buying another 3rd gen. It's also worth noting the 2nd gen was not free of faults either.
