2nd gen with 3rd gen interior

Well, out of all the crazy ideas I've had this is probably the craziest. But anyway.. I'm one of those people who isn't really to fond of the 2016s body, but gosh I love the interior! As soon as I saw the 2016s, I was like "man, if only they kept the same body but added everything else, that would be perfect. Well, out of all the people in this forum who actually know a thing or to about this kinda topic (which I'm really not, so sorry if it's stupid) the 2016s look pretty similar when it comes to the frame, and fitments on certian things. Is it possible (disregarding costs) to replace the interior or let's say a '14 with a '16s? Let's let the answers come forth! (And prolly a lot of insults too, but oh well)

I'd be interested to see if the seats will bolt into the 2nd gen. I want the heats.

Ive thought about a 16 swap, really all I want is all black interior instead of the grey/black

 

Likely, go to a dealer and check the seat bolts and if you can take a picture underneath to check if the harness is the same. Should be a bigger white plug and a smaller yellow plug

 

Haha, I have pictures on my phone of the 3rd gen tailgate hinges from the last time I went to pick up an oil filter. Wanted to know if I could swap the hinge for the easy down feature.

Next oil change will be front seats and 3rd brake/bed light combo.

 

Personally I'd like just the dash with the new instrument display, touchscreen, vents etc. thats all I'm stuck on

 

I have factory heated seats in my 2013. Must be a Canadian thing, but in all likelihood, you could get the part numbers and order them.

 

I have heat and leather on a Canadian 2012. Tech told me that they are a port install.

I don't think the hinges will work. Kind of hard to explain without pictures and diagrams, but the 3rd gen hinges are the opposite of the 2nd gen.

 

Not going to happen. I already checked. Heated seats on second gens are basically aftermarket parts that you can get on fleabay.

Oh, well. I just saved some money.

 

One day I will tackle this for my 2014 (At least dash, non-JBL Radio, vents, all switches, and maybe climate control) just need to win the lotto .... twice

 

I'd be willing to bet it all would be a direct swap either way. Heated seats being the easy part. The rest of the wiring would be the dildo that well... you know.
