Awwww man!!! Glad I have time to think about it... Nbr. is buying my sportbike from me and will be done in Dec.. birthday present to myself will be Taco-Mods, and hopefully will have decided by then... Ha... Thanks again. Loving this thread. True 2nd gen.... I think I'll be alright, I don't get to wheel as often as I'd like, and when I do, it's not balks to the wall crazy. I'd rather be confident and able than limp-taco, and unable... Haha!!!!

Awesome set up. What a lot of people dont realize is that lift height doesnt determine how big of a tire you can fit on the truck if your actually wheeling the thing. Its mainly how much youre willing to cut. The suspension still has to go up and down

Spoonman, don't stop.. This is what this thread needs.. The proper motivation, the importance of inflammation on the tires, which gives off adequate ground clearance, and last but not least, that bad-assery affect we all look for in our Tacos... Thanks for the inspiration. I now have reason for Immensity!!! These pics are bad-assery!!! Are Fox C/O's good for the eventual down the road droop?? I'm pretty sure I won't be getting any sort of heavy bumpers?? Pretty sure??

So my 1" body lift should help with less cutting, correct?? CMC for sure. Gears 4:88. Will polyurethane body mounts work with body-lifts?? Been wondering about that one? Thanks in advance my Bros of the Taco!!!!

Can I go with an 18" rim?? If so, what width is not too wide, or too narrow?? I also have the 1/4" wheel spacers... These Tacos on 37" tires are da shit!!!!!
Corrected from previous question...... I guess I was sleepier than I thought..

The size of the wheel had nothing to do with it. A 18x9 or 18x8 would be fine. I would go 3.75 bs.

You are aware that you are going to have to cut a ton, re gear, and likely tub the firewall?

The 1" BL will help for sure but it doesn't change what you have to do... just a little less cutting. I'm not sure if people are getting away with CMC but I relocated my body mount. 20180720_225838.jpg 20180715_144132.jpgI'd recommend taking the coilover out and jacking up the suspension till you're resting on bump stops. Turn your wheels to see how much/what you have to cut. I have TC LCA, running 4.5 to 5 degrees of caster and I still didn't want to keep the cab mounts in OEM location. As a reference, there is a bolt at the bottom of the fender at the seam. I cut back to that. When you're checking for clearance, make sure you account for flexing of suspension components.

Nice tips and tricks, and info as well... Thanks fellow Bros of the Taco. I'm gaining more confidence with all the info, and more so from the pics being posted. It's not always easy to build a truck that can stand out from the rest; a build that's an extension of ourselves.
That backspacing?? 3.75 with a minus or plus 1?? They tend to ask that a lot, and I'm not too sure which would be better??

I have SCS SR8 17×8.5 with 4.3 backspacing(I think). Hit uca hard with the side lugs. Ended up with 1" wheel spacers and have plenty of clearance. Feel free to reach out with any questions alone the way.
