I used to have a different bumper up front, might go back and just cut that little piece at the front so it matches up to the bumper since it does bug me a little bit

Also might sell the new bumper for a different one since I can’t make up my mind..

Yeah, I couldn't handle that. When I trimmed my fenders Eric was nice enough to lop off and replate mine. I had an aluminum bumper at the time so I was welding that back up.

Yeah I don't think it will be too bad. Intake and batteries are already relocated as well, so shouldn't be too much left in the way. Already thinking I should have just gone 40s but I use this truck for long road trips with wheeling in them, like 5-8000km once a year, and I think the 37s will be bad enough on the highway.

Was out wheeling today and found out my rear locker isn't working. Just another thing that I need to fix. Dclb needs every advantage it can get to go the same places my buddy's walk up

Very nice, love how it’s not super wide like some other +3.5 trucks

@EatSleepTacos I started tubbing this evening. Here's how much cutting is required to fit 37s with the JD relocation and +2.25 kit.

That's full stuff lock to lock. Will have to do something about the front bumper at some point, but I hate working with aluminum

Going to be fun plating they back up.

Edit: what bumps are you running?

That sounds like what @desertjunkie760 did before he realized his bumps were set incorrectly. Ended up putting the shock in there to see where it really bottoms out and realized he didn’t have to cut as much. You’re committed now though lol

The proper way to tub is what @WormSquirts is doing. Remove the coilovers and bumps. Then cut about 1/2" above the tire line. It's more work but it guarantees that you will never rub. Even during the most extreme situations you put your rig in. Plus, it's just a ton of fun to chop out that much metal. lol

I don't have a tonne of time to get this done though, so hopefully I can finish this by the end of the day on Monday. Metal stores are closed today too, didn't realize that, so I don't even have sheet metal. Stupid error. :annoyed::rofl:

Bumps aren’t necessarily set incorrectly. The shock is too long. Have a set of custom length bodies in the works and I’ll get ALL of the travel. :D:sawzall:

This. People fail to realize the amount of deflection between the body & frame. Cut a little more and hope you cut enough to prevent rubbing when actually putting it to use.

Yep. I went 1" bigger all the way around 35's with plans that a small body lift(1/2") would allow me to clear 37's. I also need to find a 37x10.5 to allow me to not have to notch the frame. Keep in mind this is on my 97 4Runner without LT.

At JV last month I took a buddies BFG 39's(really 38's) and put one on my rig. I got about 1 wheel rotation before frame contact. I'll most likely put in the effort to make 38's work. The only thing preventing me from starting the hack is my gears. My rigs already a dog with 5.29's and I can't go any deeper. That means I'll also have to budget for a SC if I go to 38's. It never fucking ends. lol

Transfer case and different gears in there. Like an atlas you can go 1.5 on the high range and whatever your hearts' desire is on the low range.
