What cv axles are you guys running? This is the second time I've broken one in this video. I'm over extending them I believe.

Inner...seems to be pulling out of the inner joint. Especially when I have to "bump" an obstacle. I wasn't aired down in the video since it was an impromptu thing so I had to bump a ledge about 2 ft tall. It was wet which was giving me fits.

If you want the honest truth, it's because the 37s won't make up for poor driving, and will actually make things worse if you have no throttle control.

But that's probably not what you were looking for.

Seriously, not trying to be mean, but situations like that have snapped cv's on a stock truck with 33s if you're just gunna floor and and hope you get a good bounce.

Also drop bracket lifts, which it looks like you're running, are notorious for having terrible geometry

I appreciate the input. I'm usually a more cautious driver until it's time not to be. I'm having more trouble with the cv pulling apart than anything. Breaking the joint isn't really an issue per se.

In this situation, I couldn't really go left or right to ride up around the ledge, so I was more "playing" with it. Thr trail was wet, and the rock is pretty slick in this area. Sometimes wheel speed is needed to "heat" things up. I think if I had aired down, I would have had little to no trouble with it tbh.

No drop bracket here...fox 2.5 coilovers with rokmen race series uca. Stock lowers. Fenders have been trimmed a couple of inches, and bobbed/high clearance of course.

Seems like you're just hammering down on a hill that looks like it could be driven in 2wd. I know videos don't do hills justice but man that doesn't look steep enough to warrant bouncing off the rev limiter.

This is one of those hills. Old strip mine ground, it's probably a little over 30 degrees slope. I watched the video and was surprised how "tame" it looked.
The park is interlake in Lynnville, Indiana if you're curious.

the JD fab 934 axles replace the inner axles with a much bigger piece, might be worth looking into if you have money to blow. or just limit straps

    You're exceptional at being vague.

Those are the ones I'm looking at. I'm gonna call them and see if I *maybe need a slightly longer axle to compensate for the droop. I'm not getting much engagement in the inner tulip.

I know lynville very well. It's 40 minutes from my house...

Silly question, but these are all oem axles?

I normally run the the trails on the black coal road and the bounty hill near the back parking lot. but limit straps will help. Also another thing you can do is take the boats off your axle and clean out all the grease, then cycle your suspension and see if it binds or the tulip bearings are just coming out of the cups.

One failure was an OEM axle, one a Napa reman. I've been contemplating the issue, as I also have a leak out of the diff seal on that side. The diff has the ecgs bushing, which looked a little worn last time was in there. I'm gonna pull the front end apart and do what you're talking about, and go ahead and replace that. Not sure it has anything to do with it, but worth a shot.

What part of KY? Sounds like either way you're pretty close to me.
