looked at them before going with a '14. prefer to buy a later year in the model run than be a guinea pig. Aftermarket support is also there, and most issues have been flushed out. 4.0 is solid as well

Gotta disagree with the power delivery. It has roughly, what, 15-20 more horsepower? But they come in at 6k RPM. You are never even coming close to 6k RPM, unless your riding the pedal hard.

You guys would just go nuts if you drove a 1980 Toyota pickup 4x4, but it got great mileage.

I have zero interest in owning a 3rd gen. If I wanted a vehicle with the 3.5 I'd buy a sienna. If I were to get a 3rd gen for any reason it'd have a manual transmission but I don't think it would tow as well as the 4.0 paired with the automatic transmission. If I were to replace my Tacoma I'd be looking for a Lexus GX.

Also, the butthurt is strong in this thread :stirthepot:

I like ringing it out now I know where
Find some threads on the torque curve. It comes in sooner- still pretty high @ >2.5k but the delivery when your in it is a little smoother I find. Although it's not neccessarily apples to apple because my 2012 was an Auto.

I have a 3rd Gen Taco...Mine has the good old 2.7 and 5 speed manual trans. Of course this model is no longer offered and I must say I feel fortunate to have grabbed one of the last.

B/c I don't want people calling my taco a turd gen :anonymous:, also the front end, the 3.5, the price tag for the one I'd want. I sat in one and I really like the interior and the radio layout though, but as long as I have Bluetooth for Spotify/Audible idgaf
