So i got a shell not too long ago and absolutely love it! Now i am beginning to make the move on a LT set up and wish to have fender flares all around but not the crazy raised ones unless necessary... this raises the question if i can run flares with the shell, the bedside top would have to match the stock in order to do so and i have no idea what would and wouldnt work.

Does anybody know which bedsides would work and if so any pics would help!

    Thanks!

There are no bedsides that will work if you have a high end shell that overlaps the top of the bed rail. You would have to cut off that overhang so the shell just sat on top of the bed sides. Even if you did that the bed sides will flare out on top and the shell will be a straight line and look a little cheesy IMO. If you do run a shell on glass fenders you also have to add some metal support structure under the glass to support the weight of the shell.

Due to all of that I decided just to cut my OE flares and bedsides for my long travel set up. I am building my own fiberglass flares to try out...

Thanks for the info! Yea i figured that it probably wouldn't work, i think it looks kind of funny when the front only has flares:( but still looks good. If those flares work out with the shell and you are interested in selling any:cheers: id be extremely interested!

I saw another member on a wheeling meet that had flares and a shell. Didn't catch his name, but IMO it did not look right at all aesthetically. I also didn't think to check what modification he made to the shell or the flares, but I can see weight being an issue loaded on the fiberglass. His setup looked really haphazardly pieced together, but I'd be interested to see if there is anyone that has done this successfully and what is involved. Looking at @Evenflow setup, that would be a much better way to go! Stealthy...

Yeah that's I'm thinking I'm in a have to do, was hoping I would have to chop the bedsides but guess it's gonna have to happen!
