well I bought the Billies for the rear, and just had BigO put them on because I have no time to do it myself.. but on mine the Boot is on the bottom.. Im guessing thats right since they did it I hope.

 

I'm disapointed you didn't pm me, I would have helped you.

Interesting on the boot, I always thought the boot should be on top, I could be wrong.

I really dont think it matters which direction the shocks sit. Both bolt holes are the same, the bushings are all the same, widths are the same, etc. Its a gas pressured shock, so it should compress exactly the same from either direction. Our rear shocks are really nothing more than a stabilizing aid to slow down a bounce anyway. The only real thing to worry about is if there is any rubbing at full or min extension.

Since the branding on our shocks indicate boot down if you want to read it, thats probably how I would've done it as well. I'm pretty sure my current KYB shocks are boot up though. Also, on the boot itself, there are drain holes on the outside end, meaning to me that they're meant to be installed boot down. I think they did it correctly and you're good how it is.

Of course for you second gens that have them boots up, maybe its just a 1st/2nd gen difference.

We've talked about it but we don't have anywhere with enough space.

 

I've always wondered what the feasibility of doing it in a parking lot would be.

I'm sure if someone here is active in the church, that might be a good option if we could get permission (and we could run some power if needed). Maybe even allow us to use the bathrooms and eating areas inside as well (of course we'd leave it as clean or cleaner than we found it).

It would definitely take the burden off of someone for preparing the house, etc for so many guests.

Might be worth a shot if someone is an active church member.

If not, maybe someones place of employment would work as well. Just tossing out some ideas.

 

There's a church/ park right behind my parents house. There's power there too......and plenty of parking

 

Oh yeah an like a patio deal. There's picnic tables under it so plenty of shade

 

Just as long as we have permission to use it... Go talk to the bishop and see if that'd be ok on a saturday or friday afternoon/evening or something.
