Haha, yea thats where I flew into and out of was LAX. I got there earlier cause I knew they would take longer just cause they got more people traveling through there. TSA even picked me out to screen me personally. Just a random search but I didnt care. I would rather there be more security then less. But once they asked what I did for a living and saw my city ID they were really cool.;)

Yeah I agree with you. And also I really don't care about new xray machine. Some people are paranoid to show their private in the picture. Oh come on, we show our private to doctor or hospital staying, locker room, and etc. I don't have any problem to show my junk at airport xray. I understand some parents worry about their kids private. Better safe than sorry.

I agree. LAX can be ridiculous. I've had a couple times where I made it straight through no problem. Just depends on the day I suppose

Well, it is still 3 weeks away, but July is a pretty difficult for those with families (kids out of school, 4th and 24th, summer vacation month, etc). I think we'll still have a few more show up, but it wont be nearly as many that came to In-N-Out. Two months in a row is also pretty hectic.

I see it more of an opportunity to see some new places, learn some trail spots, etc, so it's all good. The next one we do after this will end up being pretty large again I think.

Hopefully we'll get some more takers. I'm going up to the Uinta's tomorrow and I'm going to nose around some trails. We might have a change of venue if I like what I see and it isn't an inconvenience.

    Stay tuned gentlemen.

I haven't played for awhile but I do have an Xbox Live account.
    Look me up
My gamer tag is Scuba Jason 13

We should see if a moderator can give us a list of all the Utah members so we could sent a PM to them.

For the last meet I sent about 30 PM's to the Utah memebers I was able to find around the forum.

One more concern. As we get into July and August ( and early September) we should bear in mind the so-called monsoon season and pick trails we can do in spite of thunderstorms. So we should watch out for clay beds and flash-flood spots.

I've spent too many days in the Uintas in downpours in July and August.

I'll snap some pictures too. The rangers couldn't give me an idea of trail conditions so I might be in for a surprise

That's a good idea. I will pm one.

That's good thinking. We have had so much rain this spring/sumer already that it might be the same way.

Hey y'all. My friend and I went to Bountiful last Friday and Skyline Drive is open on the dirt road. I drive about 4 to 5 miles on skyline drive and there was gate close was closed. U may have to go other way. I can't remember what the sign says. I didn't go other way, just drive back to Bountiful. Dirt road is pretty rocky ride and kind of fun. Some of the road is narrow and watch for other vehicle. Some of them drive too fast on the curve and almost hit me. IDIOT!!

Yesterday I attempted to go from the B to Farmington Peak on my bike however I was stopped at the top of the mountain on the Bountiful side by a cop and a closed gate. He said the pass is still closed due to snow and they aren’t allowed to open it until the Forest Service gives them the ok. Don’t worry though I’m sure the gate will be open by the 17th.
Here are some pics I took. It will give you a good idea of what to expect.

not much yet, soon to come
I'm in for sure. Either day, but agree the 17th sounds best.

I'm wondering if anyone would like to start a bit earlier? Say 9 to 10 ish? Spend a little time exploring and then lunch at the top? Then a bit more exploring for the afternoon? I'm thinking I'll probably overnight, since I don't have family and stay home on holidays - never have liked the holiday hustle.

Looks like Francis Peak Overlook would be one nice spot to the North, and lots to do to the South. My topo indicates easy to moderate going in and maybe a bit tougher in spots. Anyone go there a lot? Know what kind of conditions are for the access from Ogden side (N) OR from Parley's side (S)?

Regardless me and the dogs will be there. I am working way to hard to remodel my bathroom and kitchen, and will need a break by then. Will be nice to sit on top of a mountain, while the city melts in the July heat.

    ... later... H
