I see your location as New England... so what witchcraft are you going to employ to keep the rust at bay?

I tow too much to drive a stick.

just find the automatic vs manual threads and you'll find plenty of us standing up for our sticks. I love mine and wouldn't have anything else. I too tow a lot and find the 6 speed is better suited for it. The 4.0 is torquey enough to usually leave it in 6th even up the hills when pulling a trailer as to the auto shifting down on every little strain. The manual won't die from overheating like an auto either. Lots of positives to a manual transmission, just hope the next gen Taco still has one.

Vehicles are meant to have a third pedal.

I tow some with mine and it works great.

I got a 6sp here in Hawaii. when I bought mine the inventory on 6 sp was super low. in fact, at the time there was only DCSB TRD OR on the island was the one I bought.

Old 2nd gen was an automatic, it was totaled and I got the manual I always wanted. These days its also a great theft deterrent because of how many people can't drive stick. I would definitely look into a short throw shifter, stock it feels pretty sloppy but other than that I love it.

never owned an auto. love my stick. wheeling is fun with a stick, working 3 pedals with 2 feet can be a challenge.

6spd here and love it. Had a 2002 with a 5spd and sold it for a 2005 auto. Now i'm back with a stick. 44k on my truck without issue so far

Thanx. I'd love to have a 6-speed with my 4 banger. But my 5-geared "handshaker" does just fine though.
