This is mandatory, IMHO, for the stick. It's really an upgrade.

No, is the nut tight on yours? Does it turn in your hand as well? Mine's solid.

Does the quickshifter lower the height of handle in the cab?

I have short arms and a tall torso so any lower would be uncomfortable, atleast until modify the seat to be lower too...

so far, URD throwout bearing kit(sleeve), weathertechs, 285/70/17's on Ion 17x9 and OME 885s and Dakars and nitro sports. BHLM
don't know about the quick shifter but buy ya one of those TRD shift knobs and it'll raise it a little and feel much better.

Is there a longer shift arm to make the stick taller in the cab?

Just got an email (4 hours ago) from the dealer...

You want the shifter longer? I want mine shorter! Short shifter is on the wish list near the top right now...after I get this steering wheel thing sorted out lol.

That's a weighted RAZO shift knob (ball) on the factory stick. Made a night and day difference. The shape reminds me of my old Fox Body 5.0 with my Hurst short throw and the weight of the ball makes the shift feel more positive and not as sloppy.

I just bought a 2012 cert used 6 speed 19000mi. I'm getting a little clutch chatter in first gear, but its nothing too severe. I don't know if this is how all of the 6 speeds feel or if my clutch is starting to go out....

    Any input?

This is bizarre and I haven't had the chance to fully research why but mine was an 06 with 51k when I bought it and leaving in 1st gear was a nightmare...I've driven manuals my entire life in almost all of my daily drivers, even some heavy duty clutches in some of my "fun cars" and I couldn't get this truck to leave the line without lurching, bucking or otherwise seeming pissed off. Even between gears it seemed overly violent, regardless of how gentle I drove it.
After I installed my lift - Bilsteins all around with a 2" Toyotec AAL in the rear - it smoothed all of it out. I can leave gentle now and row through the gears without incident. It does have a slight shudder below 15mph both accelerating and decelerating but overall, much, much easier to drive. Made no sense to me....anyone have any insight on that one?

Thanks, sounds similar to what I'm experiencing. I noticed the shutter in low 4 also when trying to take off real gentile when letting the clutch out really slow.

It was axle wrap. The V6 6-speed Tacomas get bad axle wrap on stock rear leaf springs, which makes shifting gears very jerky and noisy. Putting in the AALs stiffened up the leaf springs and greatly reduced the problem. I have stock springs but I put an extra spring clamp on each side and clamped them down in front of the axle housing near the tip of the overload spring. Then it made my truck shift nice and smooth like a proper Toyota.

I have to say, I haven't had a problem wit axle-wrap or bad shudder in mine. Yes, it shudders a bit, but it's very, very slight. Shifting is not incredibly precise, but it's nice and reassuring. But it does feel like you have to "find" slots in a gated gearbox. However, I do enjoy shifting in the is truck, a lot.

I can only suppose that after installing better leaf springs, the results would be even better.

My truck only has 13,000 miles. So, that might be it too. The springs are fresh still.
