If I could afford it, I would invest in properties. For now, I've got a savings account and a truck that is begging for modification.

I don't see a point in rods. I do have a forged bottom end from the factory if what I've read is correct. The only reason I want to replace the pistons is to increase the bore. S/C would be badass though once the engine work is done.

Weigh all of your options of what you want to do. Then execute the plan.

Ask the questions of the technical aspects as you think of them or they come into play.

Do you have any specific plans of what you want to be as the end goal for the truck as a whole, or right now just focused on the power plant at this point?

Just kinda focused on clarksoning. I'd like a truck that can pull on a corvette but I'm pretty sure that won't happen unless it's one of the 180 horse vettes from the late 70's.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, work is running me into the ground. I purchased a head off of a wrecked truck, waiting to get with the machine shop and have it worked.

Have you looked into if there are any dimensional commonalities between it and its 3RZ predecessor? I have 2mm over-sized stainless and inconel valves from LCE and they also did the machining mods to the head for the stage 5 valve train. The port/polish is pretty easy to do on your own, albeit time consuming.

I still have the stock 3rz valve train components sitting in a box if you need any measurements.

I haven't looked into any of the 3RZ ancestry, but it could yield some benefit for sure. I'll look into it when I get a chance. Also, I'm not sure how well that kit would work. "Runs fine on stock ECU with no tune" sounds a bit fishy for any form of forced induction.

I don't see why. At 5psi I don't think ping would be that much of an issue :notsure:

Either way, from what I've read, you want a unicorn. Can't get the gains you are looking for without forced induction.
