We bypassed his rotrex. Bearings shot internally. Now his is back to N/A, and I am trying to convince him to install a turbo.

Are problems with these rotrex compressors pretty common? Seems like ive read a few things about folks having issues with them. I am a little concerned as i am about to pull the trigger on one..

I would go turbo for the sole purpose that you can rebuild them and even replacing them is cheaper than a rotrex. Also don't forget you have to Change the rotrex oil every so often and thats $100 a quart

I cannot remember if it's either the Netherlands, or Australia, but the price of a rotrex plus shipping is cheaper from there than in the US.

Is rotrex kit came on his used 2015 Tacoma. No telling how good of shape it was in. But we also added the smallest or second smallest pulley you can to it. I doubt we will explain it, but without knowing pulley diameter have the crank, can't know for sure.

Outer diameter of the 2TR-FE crank pulley is 146mm. Couldnt get a measurement in the ribs without taking the belt off, so it should be a little smaller than this

I think @BananaMan spoke with Web a while back and he's going to get some custom cams made, but they need your stock cams to do so

Correct. It was 1k for the regrind and would be a 6 week turnaround time. As far as I've found they are the best and possibly only option for cams for the 2tr. I don't believe the stock Ecu would play nice with aftermarket/regrind cams either, so you'd have to look into that. I'm going with a haltech elite 1500 to take care of my tuning.

@mason33x The guys to call would definitely be WEB cams. They'd be better equipped to tell you how aggressive you could go with the lift/durations. I'm pretty sure you'd need to have valve reliefs machined into the pistons, but I'd love to hear/see a 2tr with chop!
