Howzit recently acquired a 2007 Tacoma with approximately 226,xxx miles. Previous owner said misfire cylinder #3 he changed all 4 plugs, 4 coils and #3 fuel injector. But still did not fix the problem. So pulled the head and found this... Anyone else ran into this problem?

Either a small piece of the head of the valve broke off or they were too tight and didn't seat completely causing it to burn a valve. Did that on our FJ40 long ago because the valve clearance was never adjusted. Had it welded up [Dad was in the aerospace industry and there were some incredible welders] and adjusted the valves as required and never an issue after that.

Valves can chip if they are burning oil on that cylinder. Seen it multiple times.
