Since you are making them, you can call them what you want. Make up a name. Like...........TorkDropper 3000.

I'd suggest the The illudium Q-36 explosive space modulator, personally.

Ok guys, I spoke with the machinest yesterday. Apparently he was waiting to see if the nylon was working for me (I didn't know that, and it is ). So, he is going to put the order in for the nylon probably this week so we can push forward. He told me he did make another spacer the other day, which I am going to use for packaging details before selling it to lucky #2 on the list. By the time that is done, we should be close to pumping these things out for everyone. I have all hardware in my possession, and 18 O-ring gaskets were shipped out to me today. Along with the 7 remaining from my first order, that will cover the first round of spacers. That's the story for now, let me know if you have any questions.

Do you have numbers of it paired with a set of headers?

Not my specific Dyno, but yes. This is tooter's before/after dyno info with the Injen intake, LCE headers, and the spacer. You can see the fattening up between 1500-2000, and around 2900. As well as lowering the torque curve by about 250 lbft.

Is 2500rpm's the goal? My truck seems quite content at 2200 RPM running 70 - 80 mph. Is that good, bad or what? Will the spacer reduce RPM's?

No. It lowers the torque curve by 250rpm. 1000rpm in conjunction with the header and intake, along with fattening it up in a few spots. I barely go over 2500 in my truck and it was a noticeable difference from below 1500 all the way up to 3000. Much better driveability.

This mod does nothing for gearing characteristics or RPM per given transmission gear ratio and final drive ratios. What it might allow you to do, is to have your engine operating in a 2500 rpm optimal with somewhat better acceleration characteristics, vs having to drop down a gear and increase RPM's to optimally accelerate. What your optimal is now, is based upon any net positive/negative changes made in final drive gearing, tire size changes from OEM, addition in weight (engine loading) and any additional changes already made to the intake and exhaust already.

It's just shifting the peak Torque curve by 250rpm, lower down in the Torque curve while giving the Peak Torque figure achieved, a very slight increase. If you are running 2700rpm now at 130km/h.. that's what you'll be running after the part goes in.

You guys are speaking a foreign language. I looked up, "torque curve" and this is the definition: The measure of a force's tendency to produce torsion or rotation about an axis, equal to the product of the force vector and the radius vector from the axis of rotation to the point of application of the force; the moment of a force.

WTF??? Is Tacomaworld full of geeks and nerds?

I think you'd sell more spacers if you simply said, "The spacer will give you a little more acceleration for highway driving." Of course, I don't know if that's technically correct, but it sounds good. :)

Forgive me.... I am geeking out in a major way. I did have a fairly major addiction to a Dynotune, with my 2-wheeled habit for a few years. Looking at dyno charts kind of sends me into relapse .. :D

Just don't ask me about 1/4 mile times, and we'll all be good.

Technically correct or not, you have the simpler, correct answer :)

It's not really rpm itself in talking bout but the torque as far as rpms. It's a high revved motor to feel the torque but if you look @ what @tjhall36 posted was the results as far as hp & torque. The 2.7 is a high rpm torqued motor. Anything you can do to lower the torque band helps!

You almost had it perfect, Just change and add a few words.

" The spacer will give you better torque at lower rpm, and improve acceleration for highway driving".

Good news! Got the remaining gaskets in today! And, my machinest called me yesterday and said they would be ready to run tomorrow! Bad news! He wants me to come to the shop and I have a state bowling tournament this weekend. So, hopefully one day next week, or next weekend we'll get rolling on them! Won't be long, I apologize for the wait!!
