hi i’m new to this website but anyways i have a 2010 tacoma with the 2trfe and it’s misfiring at startup and ever since i bought it (month ago), it seems to have a bit of a tough time starting. i used a scanner and got p0300, p0301 and p302. also when stopped at a red light while in drive the truck will usually shake and rumble. i just replaced the spark plugs about 2 days ago, and cleaned the throttle body a week ago. any ideas?

Double check the spark plugs were correct (do you have the little boxes still), check for vacuum leaks, doesnt hurt.

How are fluid levels? This may need further diagnosing, like compression test, fuel pressure test etc.

yeah before installing the plugs i triple checked the gap. they were oem style replacement iridium denso plugs. just did an oil change same day as plugs, coolant is fine, transmission fluid could probably be changed but i have enough in there. i was thinking maybe coils? because i’m pretty sure i switched them around when reinstalling but i doubt that matters.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Install a new valve cover and spark plug tube gaskets and I bet you’ll be good to go.

Swap the 3 and 4 cylinder coil packs with the cylinder 1 and 2 coil packs and see if the code changes to P0303 and P0304. If it does, then your coil packs are going. In that case replace all 4 coil packs.

If the coils come out dripping wet, it’s time for a VC job

also the truck seems to use a lot of gas. i had a 3.0 v6 ranger before and i think it used less to be honest.

Cylinder 1 is at the front, cylinder 4 is the rear most cylinder.
