Stocking up on parts continues as my truck has been in the body shop the past few weeks getting a little boo-boo taken care of. I miss my truck.

Currently I have 2 - 32x11.5x15s mounted on Cragar Soft 8 rims. I also have a set of black lug nuts.

Monday evening I ordered a 4.30 ring and pinion gear set and this evening I went ahead and bit the bullet on getting the other 2 rims. Gears arrive this Monday, rims should be here by the end of the week. Only need 2 more tires now.

I'm also...still...eagerly awaiting my Brute Force front bumper. Taking a good while but eh. Did take the time while the truck has been down to repaint the B.F. rear. Took it off right before I drove over to the body shop, cleaned up as much rust and shitty spots as possible then painted.

Next want: Some of them AdvMonster LEDs.

 

Yeah I'm in the process of disassembling parts to repaint as well. It's a lot of shit!! Haha

Have you talked to Billy lately? And locker should be on your short list as well ......

 

Have not been able to get ahold of billy lately. I've only tried calling, I haven't tried through facebook. I'm not horribly pressed for it even though I'd love to have it. After reading the recent Brute Force thread in the Vendor section, it's even more obvious that he's just incredibly busy.

Twas nice getting to repaint the bumper. Rushed it the first time, did it while it was on the truck was all around starting to look real shitty. Looks nice and pretty...sitting on the shop floor. What all are you painting?

Last 2 rims came in today. Need last 2 tires and would be ready technically for the move up to 32s. See what the money situation is after I get the last 2 tires and how quickly I can save up and get a NoSlip. I go back n' forth on wanting the locker honestly. Hopefully have a little more $$ to blow on the truck, wifey got a promotion yesterday.

 

The locker can only help you. It can't hurt at all. And I need to paint front bumper, ifs skid, lca skid, rear shock mounts, leaf springs, rear diff, sliders and some frame spots

 

It's a use issue with the locker. I get out and wheel a few times a year. I could try and increase the number of times I go wheeling, bring my daughter along or something, would help my cause, not leave Rachael at home with 2 kids all weekend.

I tried out some NAPA rust treatment spray after I cleaned the bumper up and before putting the dupli-color bed-liner spray on. See how it works out, might be something worth grabbing a can of yourself.

 

The locker is for street use as well though. So no matter if it's on or off-road it doesn't matter

Truck is still at the body shop. They can't find where the antenna connects to, was told it's ready once they get that connected. In about 10 minutes of google searching I found where it plugs into, so I'll be there bright and early to give them a heads up on where the connector is and get my shit back tomorrow.

I put valve stems in the 2 tires I do have and aired them up today. Need an oil change when I get the truck back. Gonna put them there 2 KM2s on the rear of the truck and lower it enough where the 2 tires touch the ground. Get an idea of how the tires will look, at least in the rear. Can't fully install any up front as I have a little caliper bracket modification to do.

Rear bumper will go back on. Need to plasti-dip those other 2 rims at some point.

 

Have the truck back. YAY!

Really need/want those last 2 tires but may get sidetracked on a tailgate. I miss having a tailgate. Sweet price and the buyer may be able to drop it off at Brute Force and have it shipped with my front bumper. Kill 2 birds with one stone.

No, not yet. Trying to see if this plan would be cool with him.

 

I bought this guys tailgate. He says it has a small dent and some scratches, but for $60, can't beat it. Dosen't have anything major damage-wise on it. Be nice to have a tailgate again, been looking for one for awhile but people want stupid, stupid money for those things, even LKQ wanted to charge me $410 for an used OE tailgate, without camera. Insane. $60 is more like it.

Working out a deal between me, the seller and Brute Force fab. Everything should be arrainged, all parties have been contacted. He's supposed to be dropping it off to Brute Force, Friday 5/9/14. Brute Force will then ship the tailgate along with a bumper that he's been making for me.

 

Back from the body shop yesterday with a fresh new passenger side. New front qtr panel as I crumpled in the bottom corner of it. A new door skin, cause I killed my door and a totally new rear bedside. They had to pull a dent out of the bottom of the cab as well. Went and put the "Tacoma" badge back on today at the body shop after some Plasti-dip.


Repainted Rear bumper as well.


Here are some pics from the past few days since I've had my truck back. Got just the one LED pod at the moment, other one is sitting down inside the engine bay. Will take care of it this weekend. i.e their coming off and I'll be upgrading them to ADV Monster LEDs as soon as possible.


Really like these pics from today, especially the last one. Found a little dirt path off one of the country roads near my shop.

Truck was way, way, way to clean. It's better now. Even added a hillybilly pinstripe or 2 along that fresh passenger side.

I did speak with Billy yesterday. Hopefully the guy I paid for this tailgate got it over to Brute Force today. That was the plan, stan. Front bumper sounds like it's a bit off still, but I'm cool with it. I'd say a month before it's in hand. We're going to add a very small hoop across the front.

 

Truck is looking good cant wait to see it with the bumper that billy is making

 

Appreciate it Levi. It's been a lot of $$ since Harlan, but I was so ashamed of my truck after that meet. I would look at you and Gid's trucks then back and mine and just....hang my head.

 

Removed the other LED pod today. Re-derp'd my grille as well, it looked like it needed a fresh coat.
