Fully immersed in one of the foulest moods I've been in, in awhile. Boss man pulled some bullshit this afternoon. No bearing but wanted to at least get the truck apart and do what I could get done since it's kinda slow. Nope, fuck that idea, lets pull some shit out our ass to do.

Excitement, anticipation, whatever, it's done, I'm done. Get me my motherfuckin' parts right fuckin' now. Bearing, Bumper, Tailgate (ehhh...the other 2 mostly). All the fun has been sucked out.

I called my local Fastenal, they can't tell me about incoming shipments, can only track what they've sent out. So...I found the Fastenal Billy's been shipping from after 2 stores/calls. 1st store was the one he had been using until he moved, 2nd store, winner! This dude is supposed to call me back, I mean it can't get any worse than "we don't have a record of that shipment"....I mean, would be sprinkles to my day.

Sorry for ranting. Somewhat calmer after doing such however.

The patiently waiting finally kinda blew up today, oops.

It's not yellow, definitely light brown. It's got that cool stone facing!! The sun might not be helping that cause to much. Lived in a yellow house as a kid though for what that's worth.

Mystery solved. 'Tis sprinkles. It has not shipped. I will not have it for Windrock. In an exciting plot twist, Billy called just a bit ago. Will ship tomorrow. Decided to hold off on shipping after getting sent photos of another recently shipped bumper that Fasental did a good amount of damage to. Since I've got a tailgate coming with mine, he built a box for the tailgate and had a special pallet made to accommodate the tailgate also.

As just so it's clear, I'm still 100% cool with Billy/Brute Force and everything he does and would still order from him in the future. While yes, there is a big "goddamnit" in regards to getting my stuff, It's more fitting to know that he gives a fuck, he's completely gone above and beyond anything he had to do regarding this tailgate he had no part of other than me having it dumped in his shop and asking him to ship it.

I told Billy I was just gonna print out an 8x11 pic of the bumper and tape it to the front of my truck for the next week or so.

I'm calm. I can quit fucking thinkin' about it.

Now about this goddamn inner pinion bearing....

One day I'll have some cool shit to post in here.

Give Toyota a call in the AM.

Adam, there is a very, very slim chance I could get it before the meet. It could happen but I won't make plans for it. I never said anything about the upcoming meet to Billy or anything, figured I'd be good. After telling him about hoping for the bumper for the meet, it was obvious that he felt bad about not getting it out sooner and we spent the next 15 minutes seeing how feasible it would be to ship FedEx/UPS. It was not going to work out well so we're staying with Fastenal.

Again, I apologize for ranting earlier. Really had so much more to do with a retarded afternoon at work than any of these parts, it was a physical thing to vent on. I need a real job. A job where there is some kind of glimmer of hope of actual vacation time. I'm sick of the physical work and I'm tired of everyone and their "oh, well, I can 1 up your story this way or that". I hate living to work, life is to short for that shit. My knees feel like their going to explode at any point, I'm just waiting to bend down to rack a car, try and get up, hear something in my knee pop and just fall over, it's gonna happen.

How it went....it's a long story.

Fuck NAPA. I ordered an inner pinion bearing from them last Tuesday. Guy made it sound like maybe Thursday, given Friday. Nope, fuck all that. I had major amounts of sand in my vagina about the topic, didn't even want to look at a truck all weekend.

I did go to the local Toyota dealer Saturday morning though and ordered another bearing from them. Had to pay it for it and blah blah blah. Was told Tuesday it would be there.

So today rolls around. The bearing has arrived from the NAPA fucktards!! WRONG FUCKING BEARING! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. This thing is way to huge, I could probably put the tip of my pinky between the outside diameter of the pinion and the inside diameter of the bearing.

With zero fucks left to give and after my boss pissing me off to no end at the end of last week, I freak out on him and tell him that this truck is getting taken apart today. He knows the NAPA bearing is wrong and knows that I have a Toyota one on order. I proceed to take my truck apart, once again, with zero fucks as to how much it may have pissed my boss off and possibly being in a bay until tomorrow.

Lunch time. Got an hour. 3rd member is out in about 20 minutes. Get it apart on the bench. Parts (Ring and Pinion) are right, THANK GOD!!!!. Pinion gear...I'm gonna see if I get can't this inner bearing off in a reusable state...we seemed to have accomplished that. Lunch over but not done. Now...I work in a damn transmission/driveline shop so I don't wanna hear it...I reused every goddamn thing...inner and outer pinion bearings and seal, all of it.

Do a little work, then it's back to the truck, we reused everything, I gotta get this truck outta the shop. Ran into a little roadblock with shims. Very, very little, if any backlash with the OE shims. A little scramble and picking through a box of shims and my boss and I finally back to getting along and we've got her shimmed up with some backlash. Gear pattern looked pretty good.

3rd goes back in and truck back together. No time for tires, need to get it out. Throw the 30's back on and park it. Get the tires after work.

5:00, yay! Smoke a cig and chill in some AC for 5 minutes then back in the shop. Rear tires on first. Now the front...had to grind the caliper bracket, I'd say I spent no more than 2 minutes per bracket grinding down the sides with a shark (very course)pad whiz wheel attachment. Front tires spin free with no hang ups. I will need to paint over what I grinded, but no time today. Do they clear? No. They hit the black box, that's it. Cut off the plastic part then removed those stupid little metal boxes that are back there.

Hit the road and drove home. Everything seems ok. I didn't get much above 45 on the way home, takin it easy and step by step see how she runs.

Initial impressions on power and what not are that the truck does not appear to be as sluggish as she was before.

Did not ship a few weeks ago as I thought. Apparent damage to one of his bumpers....favors of Fastenal...got him a bit freaked about shipping my tailgate and a slight delay arose. He built a box for the tailgate and either had made or fixed up a pallet that would be able to safely transport the tailgate.

2 or 3 weeks from him shipping it this past Friday. Not before Windrock unfortunately. I'd like have a slim hope that it could, by some miracle of god, show up this Thursday, but I don't.
