    HEY ALL

Sof after reading for a couple hours I can't seem to see anyone who has done a 2uzfe swap from a tundra into the 2nd gen tacoma.

As luck would have it I am looking to do some transplant wonders and I happened to come across a 2uzfe from the 2005 tundra for super cheap.
I am looking to do a trial run for a future transplant of the 4.6v8 and the 6 speed auto. Figured this would be fairly easy in comparison and thought it might let me sell my 2015 4.0 with under 80 000km on it.

What i am hoping to find from Tacoma world is wiring schematics or links to 2uz swaps that maybe my search via a cell phone didn't find.

The only reason for this 2uzfe not going into my truck is if I magically sell the 4.0 and the 4.6v8 magically shows up before this date so please don't tell me your thoughts on keeping the v6.

My goal is the 4.6 tundra motor with gs460 heads and intake ran by an infinity 2 aem stand alone. Should make around 400 hp tuned up and naturally aspirated. The bonus to the 4.6 is the 6 speed auto and having to go from 3.73 to 4.56 gears to compensate for the transmission.
I just happened to stumble on this motor for under 400 bucks complete while waiting for the 7000 dollar motor/transmission combo to show up. (Rare motors)

What i really need to find is even swaps to other motors where they got the interior wiring schematic so I can see if it's different. Been having to use Google to other sites though as most on this site don't even try for the duel vvti motor from the 4runner.

So I picked up the motor and have some work ahead of me to spruce the thing up to like new condition. Gonna get in there and do a top to bottom gasket job and check bearing clearances (if not replace them if cost isn't too prohibitive) Check all the cylinders and clean up the heads. Probably going to be just over 1000 bucks to do it but then I know what i have. Plus I am gonna paint the block, heads and Valve covers. Gonna get the intake dipped via hydrographics (might do the valve covers that way too if I can find a look I like)
got told techinfo.toyota.com is apparently there for people to use for information.
I need to confirm a couple things that I still need.
ie:ecu, crossmember, bell housing, torque converter.
    For a temp motor... 1500 CAD for a v8 isn't that bad.

    What what?
I am installing the 2uzfe unless the auto wreckers find the 4.6v8 and transmission I have on order (waiting list)
If they come up with it before I get the 2uzfe in then I will be just installing that one instead. End goal is the 4.6v8 with the 6 speed a760f and 4runner tcase

So from doing a bunch of research I have found a couple things that make this more and more a desirable swap for others. 4.0 torque converter and bell housing match 100% by part numbers. I am going to call and confirm with a friendly toyota parts guy just incase I dont see something in the online parts listing. so down to cross member and computer

So is anyone else as interested in this as I am?

Pretty interesting. I know someone put the 4.7 v8 in a 1st Gen. Not sure about 2nd Gen but if it fits in athe smaller first gen bay, fitment shouldn't be an issue

Toyota installed it themselves for Sema back in 2007.
I am going to confirm the radiator outlets. I wanted to upgrade to a full aluminum duel core and I had originally planned on a 2010 4.6 v8 from the tundra which will go in later next year with gs460 heads and intake. Then I will probably pre sell this setup (4.7) with install to someone.
So the cross member is a little confusing. Need a side by side shot from a wrecker. The front crossmember for the 4.7 tundra didn't change for the 4.0v6. Same transmission. The crossmember does not switch over part number wise to any other vehicle
My thought is it should bolt in using maybe custom motor mounts at the very most but it sounds like toyota made the stock mounts for the right place to just swap between the two motors.
Last part is wiring..... well and intake and radiator but we all know those are easy.

I'm in Armstrong and have a friend with a 2000 2UZ tundra parts truck , and I'm currently driving his 2006 tundra 2UZ. different transmissions between the two, but if looking at either would help for sizing up a crossmember, then PM me.

Just my 2c. If you want the 4.6, get a 4.6. you are going to spend a lot of time retro fitting a 10 year old design (wiring/emissions) into your truck, just to turn around and pull it all back out and do it all again for a 4.6.

As far as schematics go this is all I have-wiring diagrams. Better viewed on a desktop.

    www.revbase.com\bbbmotor

Select wiring diagrams then use the drop downs to select specific make, year, model, engine, and subsystems.

This also works to pull up TSBs as well. Hope it helps.

I would think you could use parts from a 4th gen 4runner that came with a 2uz.

honestly.... if you plan on doing the much better 4.6L newer V8.... dont bother with the old dinosaur of the 4.7L v8 with timing belts n blah blah blah.

FYI, the 1GR single vvti v6 in my moms 07 4 runner limited is quicker than my buddies similar year limited 4 runner with the 4.7L v8.
