I’ve heard a few stories like this and it’s whats pushing me away from them. It seems like big shops come with a lot of BS. I went to outlaw Offroad in Santa Ana while I was in the neighborhood and got to talking to them and the guy tried quoting me 10g’s for a basic bilstein lift and I walked out. I’m not some office jockey who wants a cool looking truck to drive on the 405. I use my truck and am looking to get some more Offroad performance from it and am not gonna fall into the money pit trap that some places push on unsuspecting people.

Best to learn about your truck and save all of the money. Or better yet join in on those Mod days when they pop up. Just gotta find a place and some food and beer for the good guys who'll do it for practically free and make friends in the process.

As @JaCado said I am running fox 2.5 upfront and fox 2.5 in the rear with resis and I love them. However I’m looking to possibly swap only because I want extended travel. Aside from that I have no complains

It's the amount the shock can be collapsed on down travel and extended on up travel.

Don't buy new ones, have yours switched to extended travel.
Have Fox or an authorized service shop remove the internal shim that's currently limiting your travel.

Standard travel will work with stock UCAs, extended travel require aftermarket UCAs.

The difference is about 1/4" worth of shaft travel which correlates to about 1/2" of travel at the wheel. It's extra droop travel which is why you need the new control arms.

Same ride quality both on and off road because the internal valving is the same. Only difference is the added droop travel. It's not much difference, but every little bit helps!

I did just get a hair cut first one for the next 5 3/4 months lol It’s funny I would get my hair cut from the same barber on base and as soon as we saw each other it was like bitter sweet. I didn’t even have to tell him what I wanted. He already knew lol

Work has been good, on the slower shift and I have no complaints. Because last time I was on the busy shift. So I’ve payed my dues...lol Hopefully they don’t switch me to the busier shift which happened last time. Sometimes it doesn’t pay off to be really proficient at what you do. At least not here lol

I recently bought the Fox 2.5 with Resi and compression adjusters/extended travel and the same for the rear. Full kit from Headstrong. I did my research for a very long time and this article is what did it for me...I hope this helps in some way.
