What's up guys. Looking to do a few more things to my truck. Anyone think the K&N intake is worth getting? I know they won't ship to CA unless it's a CA approve intake but I have my ways lol

 

No... a new intake will do you know good. Save your money and move on to the next mod.
Unless you want a little more noise.

 

Is that all it does? I also want to know if it's worth it because i would have to install/uninstall every smog check

 

Yes.... there is no proven dyno that says differently. Most I have talked to said it was the worst mod they put on their truck. The one on your truck is already a cold air intake. Just change to a different filter if desired, but yes just adds little drone to the exhaust.

 

Ok so next question, is it worth doing retrofit headlights???

 

Which retrofit are we talking about here just so we are clear.

They look great... but have heard mixed reviews. Some say there is diminished light out put. But I am not really sure. I guess we can tag @eccracer104 he has more experience in this area.

Light output is much better than stock. Well worth the time and investment IMO.
Plus they look bad ass


Keep in mind it’s not a simple nor easy installation, takes patience and time to build them correctly.

There's diminished light output on the aftermarket headlight assemblies that have projectors because the grade of projector is much cheaper. They're not bad, but no where near as good as Morimoto projectors.

 

Yeah that's exactly what I want. One of the guys on your that does him offering to get a set done for 500 bucks

 

This. They just let you hear more "intake sounds" & make you feel like every green light is a Fast & Furious scene....at stock speed Washable filters will give you all the benefit you need: saving money on future maintenance:

 

My truck already sounds like that because I had a MagnaFlow exhaust installed. Sounds good though and the only reason why I got it is because my customer is the owner of magnaflow and he gave me everything for free.

 

I know I'm sounding like I have a shitload of money in my pocket that's burning a hole, which I don't... but what about lighting?

I installed some under lighting on my truck that goes off with my interior dome light. When I unlock the truck it turns then dims when dome light dims. I used some BS LED lights that burned out 6 months later. What's a good weather resistant set of LED lights? are there waterproof lights because I'm constantly at the river dumping my boat.
Is Rigid the way to go no matter what?

Edit... I know they are 3rd gens, but concept is the same. I haven't looked much at 2nd gen stuff since mine was taken.

 

I use a lot from The Retrofit Source and I have them connected to their XBT Bluetooth Controller. It’s amazing. Other lighting on my truck is Baja Designs BIG TIME!!!! Lastly, I cannot forget about my man ME-SO CUSTOMS! He is the man! Such great products and function. If you ever have questions let me know. Check those three areas tho and get back to me.
