I cant believe you guys are telling him to not even try. When I was in high school my buddy had an older bmw and I had a volvo....we would mob at pismo and rarley get stuck...even going to comp hill. Its all in how you drive. Easy on the gas....keep up momentum. If you can stop while going down hill its eaiser to start back up....air way down...basic

2WD will not work at all here at the Jersey shore. We have the deep sugar sand here on the beaches and even on some of the trials.

I have to tell my bs story about my '65 Mustang on FR78x14 radials on sand at the Silver Strand south of San Diego. Needed a little push to get going once, but keeping the speed up and wheelspin down is the ticket.

That deep dune stuff, heck tanks get stuck in that stuff.....

Tell that to the guys running the Baja 1000 this year in 2WD! How about a 2WD with a rear locker? Back in the day, I did a Baja Surf Trip in a stock SR5 20 or 22R?, 2WD, (circa 1980), and did a lot of beach and sand stuff. I did pick and choose, but it got me into a lot of places you would think you needed a 4WD. As a FYI, I did surf trips, baja race trips, mexico gulf trips throughout the year, year after year after this trip so I did go with 4x4 with all my rigs after this truck...:D well until now...

i had a fucking blast it was soooo awesome to get my beauty out on the beach and we got out to a spot no prob... decided to head back in as most of the people were leaving... and having trouble leaving, stock 4x4s... well on the way out im running on the nice hard shelf but theres fishers way up it and theres a stuck landrover, which said best 4x4 in the world... ahaha, so i lost speed going around them which they were right at the entrance which was torn up by oversized domestic trucks on 35s plus... so i got by them and tried to get back on the hard... didnt happen... a couple guys helped and pushed me out
