I'm confused why the 4wd can't do the same thing?

Wow... you not only avoided getting high centered you had to maneuver around some garbage and a hub cap. Great job!

They do. Well Lexus RX does. i had a couple. They were "AWD" but there is settings to split 50/50 front and back and lock on VSC. (Special order) The RX's actually performed REALLY WELL offroad (considering the low ground clearance) especially in sand and mud. It literally looked kinda like a cat carefully positioning its feet with wheels spinning independent of each other. When one would start to spin it would back off power on that wheel slightly and put more force on a wheel that had traction. Just no lift kits are avalible, so you cant go in places where you would bottom out the unibody on something hard like rocks, etc. Plus people thought i was nuts when they would see an RX Lex on a trail, lol! But excellent for just getting to your camping spot, then take trucks/jeeps/whatever from there :)

I was specifically referencing this part:

Nothing about the 4wd system is limiting the droop of the suspension, so 4wd Taco would be able to do this just as easily as a Prerunner.

Back at it tonight. Just going up a steep incline about 5 feet in height and roughly 45 degree angle. City wheeling at its finest! Sorry for the bad picture
