    You need to separate the flange on the drive shaft from the flange on the transfer case/diff housing. Use a screw driver or pry bar. I usually just use a wrench. Once you break the seal between the flanges it'll be easy to take out. It doesn't matter how you put the shaft back on. The shaft is balanced on it's own, not while it's attached to the truck.

    It worked to pry it off. I went for a short drive and it's so bad ass. At 20mph in 4th(It won't go into overdrive) it's at 2000 and it bounces off the limiter at 52mph. It's useless but fun none the less.

    If you have a slight vibration after you put it back on you can rotate the position on one of the flanges and re-tighten it. Sometimes the flanges don't sit completely flat and it'll cause a vibration. I've taken mine off many times and haven't had to problems.

    Huh? Maybe I'm missing something.



    On my test ride I was playing around with holding it in first and determined as far as rpm and speed that with it in low 4 is about equal to 1.5 in high when going down the road not crawling.

    you said you wanted to feel would it would feel like to accellerate slowly.

    disconnecting 3 spark plugs will do the trick

    Haha. Yes that would work but I said I want to feel it accelerate with low gears as in feel the torque.

    Back in High School (mid 1970's), my friend had a Jeep CJ-5 and discovered where 2-LOW was (hidden) on the transfer case shifter... He just loved pretending to be a trucker and turning his 4 speed into an 8 speed!

    lol. Not if you re-install it with the T-case in 2WD. You'll be able to turn the flange no prob. Make sure you mark everything, and reassemble it exactly the same.
