Ending up backwards in the interstate median with wet pants is the best!

I can't ever think of a situation where I can say I was happy I only had 2wd.

My first truck was 2wd, the four after that have all been 4wd.

I live in AK, and commute around 2k miles a month through a few mountain ranges. I pretty much drive in 4 hi the entire time when there’s snow on the road. I would never get another 2wd truck, as I’ve gotten stuck too many times.

When i had 2wd i was happy in the summer, and early fall with it. Theres something about snow, and mud with 2wd that don't get along.

I was contemplating trading up to a 4wd as well but came to my senses. I’ve never needed a 4wd living in south Texas and if I ever did need one it’ll be because I put myself in that situation. That said, someone will be more than happy to pull me out of the sand at the beach :D going to use the money I’m saving on a good suspension lift

Used my Tacoma to deliver a stove today. Had to back down the steep driveway in snow. 4WD was super nice to have. 2WD? Would’ve been shoveling it out.

:thumbsup:Slight less mpg, lower tow rating and maybe higher insurance. But you have a 4x4. I went 2wd for the cost and I don’t need 4wd but it would be nice. It was hard to make that decision.

I live in Maine and just bought a 2023 4x2 SR5. This truck is perfect for my every day driving needs; grocery getter, occasional trip to Home Depot, etc. I will add some weight in the bed this winter and will only drive it when the roads are clear. I use to drive a Chevy S10 when I first got my license; a sand bag in the bed during the winter served me well.

I see all kinds of 4x4 Tacomas here in Maine and none of them look like they have ever left the pavement. I'm not trying to be a glitter cowboy or keep up with Joneses, so my new truck is all I need. Buy what will serve you best!

Also, my wife has an AWD Honda CR-V when the snow gets bad.
