    Hello all,

Looking for some help. I was installing my chrome delete kit which included the 4wd selector switch so I had taken it apart, upon putting it back together today and starting my truck I have a error code like such: [IMG]

Just wondering if I can keep driving it until the dealership can see it. Or if I can somehow fix this myself.

Does the switch feel any different when turning it?

Feels the same, but doesn't allow me to "push" in to change to 4lo. I'm worried I just broke a very expensive part.

I think the selector switch is @150 from the dealer

    Oh look, another mod....

I had this same error when I did the chrome delete package on my truck. Turns out, the knob was not lined up properly. When you put it back together did it click easily through 2h, 4l and 4h? If it didn't, then it wasn't put back together right. Take it apart again and verify that everything is lined up correctly.

I took a few extra minutes to line mine up correctly and tested it before putting the dash back together. It changed seamlessly, just like it was designed.

Make sure the circuit board on the back is not inverted. If it is, then you will get the error message.

Appreciated! I'll tear it apart on my lunch break and hope there's a screw driver somewhere around here.

Ripped it apart and reseated it, seems it now will switch between 4lo, 4hi and 2wd, will check if error code has gone away as well!

Kind of related, kind of not....

I never got the message but my switch became very loose after installing the chrome delete. There's no tension in the switch so sometimes it rattles halfway, almost into 4H, which kind of sucks. Took it apart and reassembled it but it seems like either the ring is missing something that creates tension, or I broke some micro plastic piece when assembling. Curious if anyone else has that issue.

Not my thread but I'm in this situation or at least a version of it myself. Thanks for posting this video. I took my 4wd switch out today and reassembled. Didn't solve my problem, but was worth a shot.

I know theres two pinion screws on the sides when you take it apart, you may have lost those?

I'm confident I did not lose any hardware that was in the button originally. Removing the chrome ring was tough and I definitely muscled it out but there was no loose/broken pieces once it came free. I've taken the button apart a few times now trying to diagnose it but it's alluded me.
