I am not sure about the current trail conditions in AB but I can recommend checking these out if you happen to be near the actual town of Anza Borrego Springs. .. https://www.desertusa.com/borrego/bs-art.html very cool sights, especially if you have kids on board!

    and http://www.mantripping.com/mancatio...ls-to-explore-in-the-anza-borrego-desert.html

and worth checking out as well, some very easy and a few more difficult off-road trails in one easy to get to area. You can see some pretty cool 4x4 rigs hitting some of the obstacles at this spot! ... https://www.desertusa.com/ovr/du_4x4-training.html

Have fun and share some pics when you return!

No cost to use the area. You can look it up on-line to check out the place and see if there are any scheduled events going on there on the days you will be in Anza. They have camping right there with decent restrooms and some shaded picnic areas.

Coyote canyon is a favorite of ours. 2WD friendly. The bypass used to be a little rough but this last time we went (April 2018) we discovered they had filled it in. Now it’s definitely 2WD approved. Depending on the time of year there will be 3 cool river crossings on your path.

Another area to check out is fons point. Incredible view overlooking the Borrego Badlands. Also 2WD friendly.

Best way to make any dirt road more exciting for a 2wd is to speed up...

My buddy and I are the only 2WD trucks that go in our group of 5 and we always make jokes about just bombing it and hoping for the best. Haha

When in doubt, throttle out. Long travel doesn't hurt either.

I'd like some of this info! Heading out there again in November. Did the coyote canyon trail so far and that's it. 2wd lifted good tires

They smoothed out coyote canyon so now it’s really 2WD friendly. It’s a lot easier now

I’ve gone for years and it was 2wd friendly. Went after COVID and we all got stuck. I think the closure of that trail for almost a year has the wind bring in the sand. Wouldn’t recommend until it gets more trafficked

A lot more sand all over the park. Rangers told me it's lack of rain past few years and unforgiving winds
