Ok I know this might be super dumb but I just need help because iv looked through these forms and can’t really find the answers I’m looking for.

ok so I have a 2019 trd pro Tacoma and I have 35s regear and the dobinson 3” lift and I know that Camburg and dirt king make a upgraded spindle that adds lift but I don’t wanna spent 1800 haha so I found some 2wd ones and from looking on line and trying to read forums I think it’s possible.
So could I get the 2wd ones and bore out the center to put the axle threw because all the other bolt holes are the same?

If we're talking oem, a 2wd and 4wd spindle on 6 lug trucks are identical.

So I’m looking at getting a spindle lift from maxtrax or somthing like that so wouldn’t it stay the same because my lug bolts on to that spindle?

So if I get a new dirt king spindle with the lift wouldn’t it not matter because the lugs bolt on to it?

Negative ghost rider. Lift spindles (maxtrac) provides lift by lowering the wheel bearing thus raising the vehicle. If you were to run cv axles through them they'd end up contacting the lower control arm. This is why these types of lifts are only compatible with 2wd vehicles

Fuck haha so what should I do because I don’t really see a great option for getting my upper control arm not a a down hill slope

Drop bracket, portals, or stock height. Those are your options

Your only options are a drop-down bracket kit, or lowering the lift you have now.

Damn I think I’m gonna have to do drop down bracket just because I have my 35s and all the work done for them you know so it would be dumb to go back now.

So is it a diff drop? Or a drop kit? Because I want the upper control arm to be back up so o have enough up and down travel

Do you want more lift?? There is nothing wrong with the UCA angle with the 3" Dob lift...that is a very nice lift.

Yes and no haha I wouldn’t mind another 1/2 inch for the look with 35s but also I love my lift but I feel like if I had a bigger spindle that I could get more down travel and not stress those parts and if I did a diff drop that only helps the axle which is great and I think I am but I just know every upgrade exposes a new week link haha

Ahh...I would suggest dropping the lift down a bit actually. Your limiting factor for down travel is actually the CV, not the UCA or LCA. So a taller spindle will relieve the UCA but the LCA will still be in the same spot and the CV will still be stressed. I'm running 35's and am only at about 2" of lift so when I go wheeling, I have more down travel.

No, a complete drop-down bracket kit. This is the only way to restore stock-like CV and control arm geometry of the suspension with a lift (and therefore your downtravel).
If you get the basic 4" BDS kit, you should be able to keep your current front shocks & rear leaf springs and use them together with the BDS kit. This will add the 4" lift of the BDS kit with whatever you have now (I don't suggest more than 6" total lift though... So if you're at 3" now, I'd suggest adjust the front shocks an inch or so lower so you're not maxing out your CVs).

Just be aware the BDS kit requires replacing one of the crossmembers on your frame (leased trucks might not want to apply).

If you are doing this mainly for aesthetics, a drop bracket or body lift kit might be your ticket.

Here is some basic info on lifts that include a blurb on spindle lifts.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-tacoma-lift-guide.509171/

Also, if you use google search, it is easy to find info on spindle lifts. Try searching on “site:tacomaworld.com spindle lift”.

Ok thank you I’ll have to check those out. And yes I bet if you were leasing a taco they would be pissed but might appreciate you doing free upgrades for them hahahah
