    Stock for now.. maybe
Wow, I didn't read all the replies but jeez... bought brand new but don't like the color so want to change it. I either hope this isn't real or I wish i had the cash OP has for such changes.

I recently saw a fancy builder take down a beautiful walking bridge just to replace it with pretty much the same thing... crazy

A waste in my opinion but if you aren't happy you aren't happy. If you got it you got it..

I didn’t get the color I wanted either but I did get the packages I wanted. I got a Bright White one, so I guess i will be painting or wrapping when all the paint starts falling off....!! Also 2wd is more fun in the snow because you can do donuts and drifting around in vacant parking lots. 4WD is for when you have to be serious about your driving!!

Get a wrap, that way if you ever plan to sell the truck you can peel it off and retain the factory color. my friend had a wrap on his gti for 7 years and when he took it off the paint still looked brand new underneath.

Just a thing, but chains can only be installed on the rear wheels. No room up front unless you use spacers.

you should not be parking in 4wd. the drive train is binding thus slowing you down.

Enjoy your truck and be safe...BTW Silver is the color I originally wanted - they gave me a big discount for taking my blue one (I like it now).

    You're welcome!

You probably don't see much snow in SD, but the Taco is pretty impressive in the slick stuff Stock or with some well recommended ATs. I bought a set of chains for the rear and never felt they were needed.

I have to get them listed for sale since they don't fit the ATs, only the Stock tires.

I had a few fun trips to Tahoe and Mammoth with my ‘97 F150 and my ‘02 Tundra. Got the tundra stuck one morning somehow, vapor in the tank maybe? Started just fine that afternoon. Never owned chains for either of those trucks. The stupidity of youth!

My Tacoma came with chains in the rear seat storage compartment. Kind of a nice and unexpected surprise. I’m itching to try them out but we are likely in the minivan for any snow adventures.

And since I mention it, for a front wheel drive Odyssey, if I had 4 tires worth of chains, would I use all 4 or just two on the front? I got two sets of chains because I did not want to be stranded if I broke one.

They are sometimes required with posted signs and CHP stops, with an allowance for 4x4 with snow tires. I don’t think anyone would bother to check a pickup truck with reasonable ground clearance, I think the rules are mostly for FWD vehicles.

I was wanting to try them, but never enough pucker to think that I needed them. I did get semi-stuck once when the Taco was new and was able to work free in the melting snow. That sort of lead to the chain purchase.

Nice find! I would bring mine along just like I would bring along a strap and shackles when wheeling.

You don't need all four sets installed, but not doing so could make the rear a bit happy, esp braking. The ABS should sort it out though. The best thing to do is do a bit of parking lot testing.

    "■Four-wheel drive usage frequency
You should drive in four-wheel drive for at least 10 miles (16 km) each month.
This will assure that the front drive components are lubricated."

straight pavement is fine...just get back to 2WD before turning.

Maybe look into the magnetic armor like Goat. for like $500 you can change it up somewhat.
