    It could if you don't do your research. I did my conversion in two separate weekends in my driveway. I did it in stages that made sense for me to continue daily driving it.

    Mine was about a year old at the time.

    It's not for everyone. I got a great deal on my truck. To get a config with 4wd would have cost a lot. I was able to convert it for less than what I would have lost in paid taxes and title fees on a trade in. Plus I plan to keep it until it dies. Still I was pretty nervous about doing it on a newer vehicle. But it's worked out so far. I've put about 45k miles on it with the conversion and taken my family places we wouldn't have been able to go without 4wd.

    If you want to jack it up over 3" you are better off with a 2X4 than a 4X4 since no front bushing and vibration headache. I have a 4X4 and never used it, actually never engaged it...should do it to move those gears a bit.
