I have a 2009 Tacoma 4 cylinder. Maybe a month ago, at the end of my driveway I took it out of 4 wheel drive, gave it gas, rear wheels spun, hit dry pavement, and the traction light and service engine lights came on, stayed on, and are on.
It seems a little while later it started bogging and idling rough. Coupled of times it had no power, like gas starved, but restarting temporarily got it going. Had the oil changed and they said I has a misfire in cylinder 2. Got it home and now it will not rev over 3,000 rpm. Bought it used so I changed the plugs and coils. Still will not rev over 3,000 rpm.
The guy at the parts store said I need to reset the traction light. I followed your forum from Crom on how to do this, got the ABS light to flash but not the traction light. Did it several times to no avail. I'm thinking it may be a wheel spin sensor?
Two questions: Is this true, are these things related? If not, what can be causing the 3,000 rpm problem?
As it is, it is undrivable. Please help. Thanks
