Is it possible to delete the EGR completely from my truck (94 3.0 T4R) without any issues? I have been researching it with limited success- most threads I have found on it through various forums end up going off track and the question never gets answered. So has anyone here done the EGR delete? What all did you do, and did you run into any issues? I am still researching, but I figured it could not hurt to throw a thread of my own up here to fish for some answers.

Have you tried just disabling it to see how it responds to that? As an OBDI vehicle it may, or may not, set a CEL.

So before tearing into anything, why not experiment a bit?

What are you trying to accomplish?

The truck actually does not run yet- I have to rebuild the engine first. Just trying to get a bit or research done, because I already know the EGR is bad- or so the previous owner says. Just so I'm a little better informed when the time actually does come around for me to mess with it.

I've got a 3.0 '90 p/u..,I've removed all emissions and excess hard vac tubes and extraneous airbox junk...truck runs better than ever...I don't need smog check where I'm at...

You'll have to use a small resistor to remedy the cel for egr...minor, like $1 from radio shack...I think yota tech has a good write up on that...

I made plates out of steel sheet to block intake manifold and exhaust where the pair and egr were...and ran new fuel line to replace hard line to injector rail...

    So much more room ...

*this clip was not made for this post, pardon the jerky camera...and yes my coolant line is off ... I run a mini pod on the crank case vent now...
