Hi I have a new 2020 TRD Tacoma off rd 4x4.
    I want to put a 3/2 lift
Do I have to use Toyota to keep warranty ? Or can I use a local front end shop who specializes in lifts?

You can use a local shop, lift won't void your warranty. Only if a part is effected by your lift it won't be covered under your warranty

Well I had Toyota do mine to avoid hurting my warranty but just last week I took my truck in to look at my drivetrain seeming to slip a little right before engaging. The service manager told me that they had nothing they could do and if it was escalated to Toyota corporate they would want it stock to even look into it.

That stinks. My dealer had a 4x4 shop install a lift as a condition of purchase. They told me it was included in the warranty, but what does that mean really.

I basically ended up pulling the crap they installed and upgrading as a DIY.
