My FSM and Haynes seem to leave out any install details on this piece. There appears to have been an O-ring (there's some leftover pieces may be) on the flange connection to the block but my replacement didn't come with one. Does this part get an O-ring and/or FIPG? Thanks.

FIPG, no O-ring. The detailed instructions are in the FSM at the end of "Engine Mechanical 5VZ" (reassembly). There is a groove but it is for the FIPG material.

Yes, I see that section now, kind of in a strange spot. Thanks for the info.

Hey what's your issue as to why you're replacing this part? It seems I've got a tiny coolant leak coming out from behind that plate in the back of motor where the bypass tube enters is why I ask. I've done a little bit of research into this and find it can be a few things. Won't know till I tear the whole top end down to figure it all out. Really anxious about it and wondering if you had the same issue and what it was if that was the case with yours..

I happen to have the heads off, due to some compression issues. While in there, I noticed a bit of liquid in the little valleys between the freeze plugs below the where the tube runs. Although I never noticed a loss of coolant before, I figured it was a good time to get a new one along with the knock sensor cable as well.
