Hey everyone, I'm looking at getting an overall 4" lift to my Taco. I'm fairly new to mods but have definitely done a ton of research, I've narrowed it down to these two options:

    - OME 2" ARB Lift Kit. - I've read somewhere that it's really a 2.5" front lift, is this true?
    - ICON Stage 2 0-2.75" Lift.

    Add on:
    HS 1/2" Top Plate Spacer
    Bilstein's 1" Body Lift

    This should give me 3 1/2 - 4" of lift if I go with the OME's, or 4 - 4 1/2" with the ICON's.

First of all, is it possible to add the top plate spacer with either of these lifts?
And, if I max out the ICON's to 2.5" or even 2.75", is my suspension range going to suffer? I've read somewhere that if you max out Bilstein's 5100 to 2" then your compression range is just... crap.

I looked at the Rough Country 4" Lift but I feel like the components they use aren't going to do my truck justice.

I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on this & open suggestions.

    - B

my 2c, I'm not a fan of stacking lifts like this, but if I were to chose between your setups I guess I'd do the Icon suspension

    Any reason you're against it?
What kind of setup would you suggest otherwise?

scarp the spacers and body lift and go with either of your first two options standalone

Any good coil-overs that'll add 4" on their own?

A suspension lift is done for performance and a spacer/block lift is done more for looks imo. I feel like having both kind of undermines the upgraded suspension. That being said, please take what I say with a grain of salt. This is just my opinion on if it were my truck, but there are people who have done exactly what you are proposing.

I guess I would also ask why you are set on a 4" lift.

    Also this may be helpful

Don't forget too that taller tires will also get you a bit higher off the ground

The angle on your CV axles would be too steep. How come your set on having 4inch of lift?

Even if there were, your cv axles would hate you. Even 3" pushes it.

What size tires are you wanting to run?

I'm not necessarily set on 4". It's that I would like something more noticeable than 3" while not hitting the 6" range and having to modify the crossmember and regear (assuming I go with 35s).

Looking at running 33s, maybe 34s

I could always throw on a diff drop kit

You can fit those size tires without going with the spacers. Even 35's if your willing to do a bit of trimming

This. If you're set on a 4" lift, get one that's meant to give you 4" of lift. BDS makes one. If you stack lifts, you're asking for trouble and won't compensate for the stuff a designed 4" lift compensates for (like CV angles)

    Skip the spacers.

Go with whatever lift you want.

33s will fit fine with whatever minimal lift and trimming you do. Especially if you go with skinnier tires rather than big wide dopey mud terrains just for looks like most peeps haha.

What does that have to do with CV angles?

You should do a lot more reading on lifts, IMO.

Didn't really improve things on the 2nd gen so I wouldn't expect it to make a significant difference on a 3rd either.
