It could be used like one but it's overkill. Ultimately to make a twin charged setup run well you'd want one, but as a starting point having never tuned before.... It would be overwhelming I'd think

Should be, the FIC isn't vehicle specific, the harness it comes with was probably just cut up to run a Neon and it probably has the Neon tune loaded in it.

will NOT work, has to be the universal one

    must be 30-1910

Edit: from what I heard, cant quote on this but was told this while looking for one for myself

It should be the same because the FIC is universal. My guess is that it’s terminated for s dodge neon.

Be the first I've heard of it, but they're becoming pretty old now, nothing would surprise me.

WayBack Machine says it’s been around since 2009, maybe older.

@Jbogstaco another good piggyback is the APEXi SAFC, that's still made and has lots of support as well. Might be worth a look

So it will work I’ll just have to change how it’s setup?

Just looked it up real quick, has a different set of resistors for the injectors, it would throw codes, I think its possible it was changed to be for low ohm resistance injectors

They also said AEM could fix it? for a price.

has this been done to our trucks before? I dont know if it would work, it said it changes the maf readings and everything ive seen has shown that the o2 sensor eventually tunes it out?

Can't guarantee it would work or not, just that it might, and it may be that we (anyone who has done the fic6) would not be able to help you 100% on getting it working because of the differences

The SAFC has circuitry to simulate O2 readings while manipulating and when it needs to massively enrich it throws the ecu into open loop.

Interesting, wondering why I havent heard of it before now? Whenever tuning is discussed here, it seems that only urd 7th and fic6 come up. It would definitely be quite interesting wiring that up, I dont think boomslang makes a harness for that

@Jbogstaco are you thinking of compounding at all times or disengaging the sc at some point in the rpm range in some way?
