I did the thorleys on my 01 in cab. Didn’t really bother me on install. The TRD headers for my 98, the cab was on because I ran out of time to leave the truck on the rack. The TRD headers were pure misery to install.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Changing a starter with thorleys is dumb though, the crossover pipe merge is right in the way of the top bolt and won't let you remove it fully.

Meh. I work on the new cars. The 5.7 has the starter completely under the exhaust manifold. That’s fun. I’m
    Desensitized to PITA locations lol

Was the hardest part of the TRD install getting the connection bolted together behind the ending with the cross over pipe? I installed the TRD set on my engine in about 10 minutes with the cab off. The joint behind the engine looks like it would be almost impossible to get to with he cab on. Any idea where to get the donut gaskets for those two spring loaded joints on the TRD headers?

Which is harder or more work to change. The 4.7L starter buried under the intake manifold or the starter under the exhaust manifold?

4.7 starters are easy. Annoying. But usually come apart easier than crusty exhaustmanifolds

It’s a walker part. I’d have to check the part number again.

    Was my assumption
If you can find it. That would be great. I have not put my cab back on yet. Not sure of the condition of the gaskets in both flanges. Would totally suck to get it all back together and have a leaky flange gaskets. If I can get some new ones. I would like to change them before putting the cab back on.

They physically snap on to the male side of the connections so you don't have to worry about holding them in place as you tighten your bolts.

Thank you, I will get a couple now since it's easy to change now.
