Hey guys I have 2019 Tacoma Trd off-road. I’ve been rolling around on a 3” block lifted suspension for the past year or so but it’s not the best for off-roading as ya’ll probably know. Looking for a decent 3” or 4” front/rear suspension lift so I can get some better flex and get to where I want with ease. Any suggestions? Hoping not to spend more than $1500 on the kit itself.

Up to 3" the budget lift is Bilstein 5100. Above 3" you start cutting crossmembers. You gotta pay to play. If you learn how to pick the lines, you can get there stock.

Not sure I want to be cutting anything… however will have to have someone install for me regardless. Probably stick with 3” then. Any idea what that Bilstein 5100 runs?

How to get rid of rubbing? Put it back to stock height. Put the size tires you want on there. Start grinding, cutting and beating. Get them to fit at stock height and they will fit when lifted.

You'll be at risk to spend more than 1.5k paying someone to fix messes that a lift of that size can create.

Stay 2.5 tops, pick the right tires and wheels with proper fit and you'll be quite nimble offroad.

Always. Watch Matt's OffRoad Recovery on YouTube. Shows lifts are overrated.

What do you recommend for tire? People around here usually stick with the Baja Champions but I know there’s plenty other options. Wranglers? Nito Grapplers?

sometimes you do just need that extra clearance…

BFG KO2s are popular as are Falken AT3 Wildpeaks
    Cooper STT Pros
    Toyo Open Country

The list goes on and on.

Really depends on the usage and load rating you want.

Above 3" is going to require chopping, but there are setups that can get you close. @AccuTune Offroad is great for helping with these requests.

Just want to make sure considering the vehicle description you have and they do make both models.

Depends. Where are you wheeling? Rocks require one type tire, mud another, dirt another, pavement obviously another. Is it desert or forest? That makes a difference too. Is it sand? All this matters as there is not one tire that is best for all.

I’m in the Rockies so a mix of rock/gravel/dirt… Mostly forest - snow in the winter.

    Enough for now
2.5 is the way to go. 3in lifts and over in these trucks cause problems with the CV angles and UCAs etc. unless you go full 6in lift cross member cut stay at 2.5in lift and get some beefy tires

I notice you have your front bumper cut at an angle to allow for bigger tires and better approach I assume… Did you do the cut yourself or have a shop do it?

4wd is limited to 3" lift tops due to the front drivetrain, the CV axle angles get too steep otherwise and will tear, bind and break when that happens. Even 3" is pushing it, 2.5" is a safer bet.

Drop bracket lifts allow a 4wd to be lifted even higher by cutting the stock cross member and putting in an aftermarket one that keeps the front drivetrain in the stock position but lifts the rest of the front end.

Downside there is that you don't actually gain any clearance for the IFS/front diff since it stays at stock height.

Bigger tires are the way to get true ground clearance. But you can't fit bigger than a 33" tire without cutting.

If you don't want to cut or bend anything then a modest 2" lift with maybe 32" tires is where you want to aim.

Goodyear Duratracs is what I would run. Load range C. Very good tire and even Okay on pavement without too much noise.
