It's kind of difficult when you're actually operating the vehicle lol maybe I could duct tape the phone to the steering wheel

So we bitch about acceleration times but we want better gas mileage with more low end torque for hauling and towing....

And be nimble offroad but ride like a car.

For under $35k but not feel cheap.

    I don't understand your post...

The video shows the shift points at about 35 mph 1st to 2nd then about 65 mph from 2nd to 3rd.

And assuming the speedometer is accurate or doesn't lag from actual speed over ground.

Going to court on a ticket and I just had my speedo calibrated to provide documentation for the judge, according to this certifying agent, my speedometer is off from a calibrated dyno and my tire size was only increased one size up from stock. 265/75 instead of the OEM 265/70.

This is a copy of the results, signed copy is with the lawyer for submission.

    1465042122825163542585.jpg

Even with the tire upsize, according to the tiresize calculator, it should only decrease indicated speed by less than 2mph at 65. Speedo certifying agent says he typically sees Tacoma speedometers reading about 3-4 mph too slow which is about what we see here on the dyno when you account for the tire change.

I actually enjoy how angry and upset people get. I hope it ruins their day!

I timed it a few times with my phones stop watch. Sorry, did not mean to upset you with my observation. You know, it's just a truck, right? And just my observation. I just thought a 2 second ish difference was odd. Maybe he was on an incline or high altitude or heavy tires. I really don't care either way. A 3rd gen will probably be my next truck anyways. But how upset people get in here over a truck does make me laugh daily. I enjoy this forum!

I stayed in Cheyenne driving cross country. Amazing place!

I live in a Toyota state so I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't have a 3rd Gen :(

Haha just making sure! I didn't want to come off defensive or as a dick so I'm glad we are on the same page!

Yeah, could be a number of things. Who knows. I guess I'll have to take one for a test drive and find out myself :)

I don't see why people are complaining. When I drove the truck down to texas I thought the truck actually felt pretty peppy. Especially at highway speeds.

But it can't be a fullsize, look weird with a long bed, have a grill that's too big or shiny, must carry EVERYTHING and fit in my garage.

Seats must adjust to ANY position and be comfortable to everyone

Must include EVERY option of every previous edition Tacoma / 4Runner / Landcruiser otherwise it's not like any of the Toyotas of the "golden age".

Must connect to every piece of blue tooth technology and never cut out even under obstructions or atmospherics. It must also be smarter than me to correct things even when I do them wrong.

It's what I expect from a mid sized truck so it can do truck stuff but I don't want to get screwed over in price, I need to get it at the lowest price possible so the dealers lose money on my purchase.

Is that about what we see here on TW?

Right here it is, you can bet they used a professional driver to get the best average possible. Either way give or take a little these new Tacomas are going to be great running vehicles that last for a long time. That can do a lot of stuff very well too when you look at its capabilities. True when the photos were starting to appear we all bashed the front a bit, in person I think they look a lot better in person. I bought the latest and greatest when I needed one. I will drive mine hopefully for 10 years, then I'll probably get the next latest and greatest one.

Complaining about 0-60 times in a truck is like someone with a Honda Civic complaining they can't haul 15 12-foot decking boards in the trunk. It's not it's purpose. That said...these trucks have no problem keeping up with traffic....particularly the 1 and 2GR powered trucks....and are quicker than a lot of vehicles.
