It's good to hang out in the 2nd gen forum to see what's going to break on your truck since they share so many parts. ;)

True. Although from what I see running around here (pristine Pickups, 1st Gens, and 2nd Gens), it is mainly the part differences that worry me. Gizmos in the motor and dash. :D

I think on a Subaru you just keep adding oil. No joke I saw a Subaru earlier this year at a gas station with the hood up and i'm thinking he's going to add oil and sure as shit he did

That's a feature. That way you always have good oil.

I was looking around today while out driving and there are a lot more used 3rd gens then second at car lots. Every used car dealership has at least 3 all with the 3 in lift all with 33s people seem to get rid of there trucks after just a year or two. I’m not sure if this has any significance but in my area You can find any truck you want color, trim package, they are literally everywhere.

My brand new Subaru Outback that I bought in 2014 burned a quart of oil between oil changes. Apparently the rings never set, because when I sold it 2 years later with 45,000 miles it still burned a quart between changes.

Pickup trucks have been popular for at least the past 5 years, with many new first time truck owners who bought a truck because of some marketing or doing it because everyone else is, imo.

I would imagine there are more than a few people bought a truck and were later disappointed because as much as these trucks morph into cushy comfortable vehicles, they are after all “trucks” (for now at least).

Believing what you read on TW is like believing what you see on the tv news- like post #2 said- “it’s all bs”...funny and true at the same time, mostly.

If you appreciate utility vehicles for what they are, you can’t go wrong with any generation Tacoma.

Additionally, look how many guys planned to trade their '16-'19 just to get Apple Car Play or electric seats.

They don’t give you CarPlay in the 16-19s?

I like the 3rd gens It’s just a little surprising something that new wouldn’t have a basic feature like CarPlay. I wonder if the older ones that have the premium audio set up have those features.

Nope. Just Entune. It's ok if you're not used to having fancy screens and the ability to hook up your phone. But, there are better systems out there. Would have loved Android Auto, but oh well. It still does what I need.

Agreed toyota isn't exactly taking massive leaps especially in the tacoma. Gotta play it safe for a very large segment of sales

One thing I miss from my GTI is all the bells and whistles, hell I could roll my windows up and down with the remote.
