3.5 vs. 4.0?

    me too, ECT does help though but I usually just leave it off now and use the accelerator more off the starts

    Right. ....Also has 285's on both and mpg is roughly the same.

    Although my 4.0 was in my FJ Cruiser so not exactly apples to apples but not very far off.

    Am i the only one not concerned with reliability of the engine? If anything to worry about I would say the transmission, but I doubt toyota would jeopardize their reliability to save 2 mpg

    More like .8 mpg real world. The 3.5 is just a fail in a truck.

    Yeah about 1MPG from my experience. 18.5 in 2016 4runner with 4.0L. Just above and 19.3 in my 2016 tacoma

    When they redesign the 4Runner they will drop the 4.0 litre. It's being phased out by Toyota.

    They are probably deciding on whether or not to kill off the 4Runner.

    Toyota has put out a few turds in terms of performance as of late. The C-HR is supposed to be a Juke competitor but has 75% of the power and no AWD... WTF?

    haha no, i just notice it everytime i open it compared to my WRX i had before this truck
