Yes. That’s why I said it doesn’t understand numbers. The burn was it said the 2nd gen was better off road.

I quoted that because you said the 4.0 has "more" HP even though your numbers are correct.

I know that. The quote was chatgpt. Do you know what that is?

The chatbot said the second gen has more HP but it doesn’t. It has less as you pointed out. That’s why I said it doesn’t know numbers.

Edit I didn’t mean that chatgpt comment to come off as a dick. Reading it back it kind of does. I just meant do you know what it is for context.

4.7, six speed manual, access cab Pro - That would be the truck to have, shame Toyota never built it. :(

I like how everyone is going crazy about the 4.0 being used in airplanes but not the fact that this 3.5 has gone this far.

I'm not impressed by it's aviation use, they maintain airplanes better than just about anything else on the planet.
As mentioned before, pick one you like, maintain it and it will run forever.

Your in a 2010 Tacoma and it's 2023. I don't know how long you have had your truck or if it has the 4.0 or 2.7 in it. If you have the 4.0 then you should have a fairly good idea how that motor holds up over time. The 3.5 has only been available in the Tacoma since the 2016 model. So, by 2029 we'll be able to answer this question.

The 1GR-FE's use in aviation was a little exaggerated.

If the local machine shop is to be believed they see 3.5 heads 10x more often than 4.0 heads and at lower miles/age on the engine.

it is TW 3rd gen forum, so that tends to happen often. Some of these people would be exaggerate the damages if they found a tech's finger print on their cold air system or their modified shifter with the fighter pilot grip.

The 4.0 is reliably 100 % more fun to drive! Has no traction control, and has a mother fuckin CD player. Son bitch smoken tires flyin sideways into the ditch! Reliably more fun to drive!

I have no idea how the piston rings ended up on top of the piston, one of these days that head needs to come off to see how bad the damage is.

LMAO, I spit my coffee. My 71 FJ had an 8 track, I installed under the passenger seat. An 8 track dude. That thing had a Chevy straight 6 in it. You could pull stumps, small ones anyways, right outta the ground with that 8 track blasting.
