OK, so I did a quick search and didn't find anything about the mini antennas. Anyone that has one, can you tell a difference in AM/FM reception from the full size antennas? (Better/ Same/ Worse?) Is there a better brand?

The mini replacement antennas, usually about 3 inches and seen on civics. Not that I'm trying to go civic on the Taco but it's a pain to take off everytime I go through a carwash.

Check out factory S2000 antennas. There's a reason why they get stolen all the time. :)

Thats exactly what I'm looking at, found a few cheaper but really don't want to lose reception either.

I've tried them on my old car, a 2002 Toyota MR2, and they definitely reduced signal strength of the radio stations.

No such thing as a free lunch.

just do what i did cut stock antenna down to like 14"-15" then just either try to put ball on top of antenna or just quick spray with black paint. No loss of reception from what I've noticed.

If you put on a 3-6 inch antenna, you will definitely notice a difference in signal and quality. But if you don't listen to the radio much (or at all like me) then it does not really matter. If you plan on listening to the radio often, then I would say stick with a 12 inch+, or cut down your stocker.

I have the stubby one from Craven. Looks cool. That's all I was going for. I never listen to AM/FM here at home, and there are only 2 FM stations I listen to in Delaware and when I was down there this weekend there was definitely a lot of loss of reception. I had to be a lot closer to where I normally can start to pick up the station. Not a big deal for me because like I said I don't use it much so I was just going for looks.
