That could be. It does not take much to flip that bolt around.

Just for a little extra information. Ironman had batch of drivers side leaf packs that the front saddle bolt was installed backwards. I think they’ve fixed them all but just in case. The bolt head should be facing the fuel tank.

IMG_4719.HEIC.jpg IMG_4720.HEIC.jpg So the Ironman leaf spring saga continues. This is how my springs were delivered. One is damaged. I called Ironman and John said I could take a pair pf pliers to bend it back into place. So I indicated that is not a solution. Any ideas on this...

Glad to see you got your kit! Sorry to see that’s damaged though.

Bending/hitting it with a hammer is probably the easiest solution but they really should be willing to replace since it was damaged during shipping. That piece should not impact the performance of the leaf pack at all.

I’d say contact them over Instagram chat and send pics, I’ve had luck there getting “better” answers to something.

Edit- I see through our past posts here we’ve talked about how to message them lol. I’ll keep it there just in case someone else needs to see it.

I would just bend it back or add a little heat and bend it back. Sucks that it arrived like that, but at some point you have to accept that things happen and this is not one worth fighting over. It doesn't effect the performance of the leaf pack especially after you bend it back.

Hyrule, why did you choose not to install the carrier bearing spacer?

I’m not sure if I wrote it here but I was chasing a driveline vibration. I had started with the spacer, then ended up with a stack of fender washers and axle shims to get my driveshaft at the same ° from front to back.

I’ll add that my vibrations were from my tires and not the driveshaft. I think if I only had the spacer it probably would be ok too. I know with the oem wheels and tires there is no vibrations how my set up is now, so I’m not messing with it.

Thanks for the info. Just had the lift below installed on my 2018 TRD off-road. Within a week it was clear the axle bearing was going (surprisingly quickly) so swapped that to the ECGS bushing. Big improvement but still getting more vibration than is likely good, kind of feels like it would it you were running it in 4x4 on tarmac. My search continues.

If you have decent mechanical/maintenance knowledge you can try to figure out the vibrations with the drive shaft yourself. Some great threads around here. Like I said in. Y other post, I got my driveshaft within .05° angle from front to back.

If you have any near you, a driveline shop might be easier, though no idea how much that will cost.

Did you put new wheels and tires on at the same time as your lift? Can you try your oem wheels and tires to see if it vibrates with them installed?

Did folks change their diff oil to something heavier? That wasn't in the installation instructions provided by ECGs but I came across it in one of the forum chats.

Stick with factory fluid. There is no reason to go with heavier oil.

I didn’t and don’t plan on it when I change the fluid…. Speaking of that, I need to do that.

Hey looking to install the same lift. Did you need extended brake lines?

For anyone in this thread that didn’t see my post in the other, I swapped the IM springs for OME 2886x springs-

Well, after getting a set of OME 2886x springs off fb marketplace for $30 I swapped them over.
They are the 660# set of springs and 402mm vs the Ironman 720# and 390mm.

A few notes, the OME do fit but it’s a close fit. There was a lot of rust and dirt built up on the threads under the spring seat. I spent a bunch of time cleaning and then sprayed woolwax on the threads and under where the spring seat is. Also the inside and bottom of the seat.

I was set at about 2.5” of lift before the swap. Right not, with only going off the curb and a few sudden stops I’m at 3” lift. Hoping it’ll settle more, I don’t feel like lowering the springs.

The ride is pretty nice. A lot less stiff and jarring. Felt like the front rode on top of the shocks and not along with them, if that makes sense. Like the springs took the bumps and the cab was moved less.

I would like to lower them some but really don’t fell like it. Got an alignment done today as well so unless it gets knocked out, or when it does again, I may lower them. Will have to adjust my headlights if not. I didn’t measure today but will when I get a chance and will take some more pics. Was at 24” from center of wheel to bottom of the fender when installed and after short drive.

I’d recommend the swap for anyone that thinks the ride is too stiff if they can get a set of springs for cheap and easy access for the swap or can do it themselves. It is a pain in the ass but can be done by yourself.

Awesome, thanks! I'm going to be running a pretty heavy load on them. ~350lb constant rear up to 700lbs with camping gear/tent/awning/people and about 175lbs up front and wanted to be able to maintain the advertised 3in lift. Anyone here have something similar? I'm coming from the OME 2.5in heavy setup and was very underwhelmed by it. After 5 years of the Dakar squeak I can't in good mind go with them again.
