The one I was looking at was 2016 with only 10,000 miles. It has very low miles. Just wonder why all the sudden they trade it in ? When that wind noise came thru the cab it scared the u know what out of me. It would do it for a while then stop. Then the dealer said it was the rain guards..He had no clue. So annoying

Sounds like the door seals, which would be replaced under warranty if making the kazoo noise. Mine had that when new, but now it’s fine since I had them replaced

Prob traded for an Altima when they realized 16mpg

Have you driven the Titan? Its pretty nice. Plus that 5 year 100k mile warranty is really enticing.

Send me the VIN number and I will tell you if it’s a lemon or not, I can access all warranty and vehicle history. I am unfortunately for you, unable to share it but will give you the information you need to make an informed decision.

I bought a brand new 2017 TRD OR for 33,000 out the door with zero miles on it here in NC. 34,000 for used is too much. Get a 2018 in the Cement color.

Too expensive for a 2016. You can get a 2017 for that price

Why not. While I didn't trade in a Tacoma for a Nissan. I did not purchase a new Tacoma. Loved my 06 Tacoma sport, till it got totaled. Drove a Ram 1500 till Dec 2016 when I purchased a Frontier. Could not be happier.

While the Frontier has not changed much since 2005, it is slightly smaller, less electronic wiz bangs (lane departure, etc). and the issues with the drive train are pretty well worked out. At the time I was looking Toyota and GMC/Chevy were not really moving much off of msrp. Nissan on the other hand came down a bunch. Yes, I know resale value is higher in a Tacoma. But so is the initial purchase price.

Tacoma is a fine truck. I just couldn't justify the price over the Frontier.

    Back to the OP.
If your not comfortable with purchasing the used Tacoma. Don't. Vehicles are way too expensive to not feel good about the purchase.

If it eases your mind any, I bought mine back in June/July and it had 6k miles on it. Only reason guy traded is because he wanted a new ridgeline lol. As for their asking price, I paid right at 34 for mine back then, with that low of miles and the guy had a clear bra, nerf bars, tonneau cover and weather techs on it already so if you go thau route they should get you a better price. Truck has right at 13k now and it definitely wasn’t a lemon. In today’s age, people have more money(credit) than brains.

That’s one of the reasons why I backed off plus the salesman was clueless. Then the price was a tad high and I tried to haggle but they know the used tacoma is high priced .My first gen Tacoma is solid and tight no noises

I paid 32K for a brand new TRD OR last December. I'd just keep what you have if you like it, which it sounds like you do. If you trade in from a position of want vs. need, you probably will always regret it.

The new Frontier Pro 4x was listed on the web for $29,900. I traded my Dodge in. Numbers can be moved around. In the end it was my truck plus $15,900 out the door.

I really like the Nissan, I had an Xterra with the 4.0. I always check the pro4x out when I see one. I prefer my Tacoma, but if I didn't buy it, a Nissan probably would have been my truck. I just didn't like or trust the twins at the price they were pushing them at.

If I were you and couldn't keep your first gen. I would sell it to a 3rd party rather than trade and also go new, not used. The difference in price is usually minimal and you will probably get better financing.

Thanks for everyones input . I am going to wait until next year and most likely get a new one. I guess for now I will just save up more money to put down later. I feel a lot better now . So glad I did not settle.
