Do wheel spacers make you rub more on the top of the fender?

I understand how they get you away from the uca but under full flex it seems that usually the tires stuff up in the fender and spacers would make the top of the tire rub on the fender...?

What about stock rims, 3in lift, total chaos ucas and 33in tires, any rubbing issues there?

I do not believe they make you rub any more or less on the top of the fender. And I have the a 3" lift, TC UCA's, 285/75/16's, and the 1.25" spidertrax spacers. If you dont run the wheel spacers you will more than likely rub the uca and definitely rub the fenders when you turn. Even with the spacers you have to slightly trim some fender. Nothing noticeable though. But at least you will be free from the uca. With a 3" lift up front and about a 1.5" lift in the rear you should be clear from the top of the fenders.

okay, i thought that you did not need spacers if you have some uca's like tc.

Aftermarket uca's like TC or camburg or light racing will help correct you alignment after the lift. They also give you a little more travel.

from 2" to 3.5", the higher you go up from 2", the less able you will be able to to get it back to stock. Lots of people run a 2.5" lift without new uca's. But if you want to get your alignment back to factory you should buy the uca's. They also perform much better too.

I here ya JDKeller, I cannot beleive he doesn't rub hard on the uca's,
I have a 2.5 lift with 285\75\16's and I also have the 1\4 spacers and I rub hard enough to raise the truck when I turn all the way and hit uca's, not only that I just don't feel comfordable with these spacers, I have the spidertrax spacers on the way...

ok ok ill help solve this debate. i had 285's on stock wheels, it rubbed on the uca but no rubbing anywhere else. i did get a 1/4" spacer to push the wheels away from the uca but remember you are also losing a 1/4" of thread on your lugs, i was not too comfortable with this so i just bought aftermarket wheels.

either get the 1/4" spacer and just check your lug nuts with a torque wrench every now and then or get spidertrax spacers.

Thats what i'm running, 3" toytec ultimate lift, tc uca's , 285/75/16 and i had to trim some fender but i'm still nailing the body mount...I have the fj trd wheels which are .5 wider than stock. Will the 1.25" spiders fix the rubbing on the body mount ? - or is the only real way to fix that to cut up and weld the body mount?

Damn I ran 3" lift with 285/70/17s on stock sport rims. The only rubbing I got was at full crank on the UCAs. I have No wheel spacers and stock UCAs. I beat the shit out of her as often as I can. I have not had one single issue. I had it this way for 3.5 years. I just barely got new wheels and tires.

I have the spidertrax and still SLIGHTLY rub the bod mounts. Not enough to make me do the body mount chop mod.

It's gotta be the different makes of tires to where they will rub, Like I said if I turn all the way to the right you see the left front side of the truck rise quite a bit, and the paint is worn off the front sides of the uca's.. Not sure where else it will rub yet, don't want to off road till I get the spidertrax..

I have the tc uca's and they are fine. Seems like the only time you'll rub your uca is if its the stock one.

Most people including me run them in the rear as well. Mostly just to make it look even because you will notice. However, its not that big of a difference. If you want, just get the front and put them on. If you want the back, them order another set.
