Fact: the pro comp lift has the stiffest springs of any lift you can buy for your Tacoma. 720 lbs/inch.

For comparison, OME 885 springs are 585 lbs/inch.

Factory springs 500 or something like.

I Have the procomp lift kit with the ES9000 Shocks. The ride is harsh, but I haven't ridden in other tacomas with lift kits to compare, but it just seems stiff. Now I have front & rear armor to help weigh it down, but if I go over a speed bump or something it jolts the truck.

I have the Pro Comp 3" lift as well. As far as anyone saying "oh its aweful, unless you've personally had it, stfu". the bandwagon mentality on this site is sometimes sickening, lets hop off said wagon for a moment.

Now, on to reviews. I've had the lift on for 8,000 miles now. I definitely notice a stiffer ride over stock. Other than that the truck handles and goes down the road just fine. I use my truck as my comuter to and from work 70 miles everyday and have 0 problems. I can't comment on towing or offroading (besides a few washed out dirt roads), as I have yet to do either. I have hauled a half cord of wood and didn't notice any sagging.

I bought mine for $350 bucks (cant remember where from) and it has met all expectations.

I have the Pro Comp 3 in lift and love it. It handles and rides better than stock, on and offroad.

So many mixed reviews, I'm literally on the 4WheelParts page ready to type in my PayPal info and stumbled across this.
I do like the comparison of the spring weights, that does explain why it would give a rougher ride. Couldn't I just get lighter springs later if I don't like the ride?

@geekhouse23 looking at the similarities and price range what would you recommend. I want to keep changing other components to a minimal. And have you experienced with pro comp?

Depends on price range too. Everything for an old man emu lift which is what he had first was $2000 or so. This is the correct way to do it. Plenty of people have gone spacer. Fucked it up. Spend $800-1200 to repair issues then spend the money to do it right. So if you do it correctly first then you'll have less issues.

So far I am going with ome and blistin 5100 will that do for my front lift I want to put on it. Give or take around 3 inches. I have a 11 Tacoma trd sport for the meantime I plan on getting just tired maybe 32s and keeping the rims. I have a big question. The with of the tire is determined by the rim and what else? I want thicker tires on it but idk if that's possible

Just keep this in mind.....Practically ALL lifts are at a minimum, "decent" when they are new. Put a few thousand miles on 'em and the flaws start to surface. Overly stiff coils beat the life out of shocks. (Especially the rebound dampening) Shocks start to break down. Some begin to leak. Mostly, they just lose dampening ability to a greater or lesser degree.

You don't ALWAYS "get what you pay for"....But seldom if EVER do you "get what you DON'T pay for".....There's a reason why some brands are so cheap.

All I'm gonna say on the subject.....

You mean you're sticking with stock wheels? I'm not sure what the diameter is. You have to check that and then go by that. There's different sizes people have run even on stocks. You don't want to go too wide though.
