Hey guys and gals I am looking for any feedback from people who have a 1 inch body lift with their 3 inch susp lift. Preferably some pictures. This weekend I am installing sway a way long travel coil overs, all pro upper control arms and toytec add a leaf in the rear. I am currently running 265×75×16 tires. I want as much lift as possible. Not to fit bigger tires but to get the body as far from the ground as possible. I hate body lifts but feel a 1 inch wont be that bad as the 3 inch BL.

I am running a full OME suspension plus a little extra with trim packers and longer shackles so probably a solid 3" in suspension, but also have a 1" body lift. I wouldn't suggest going any bigger than 1" with a BL if you do it. It just creates too much strain on the bolts.

I haven't had any issues with my setup and it's been a great fit for my 33's and even some 35's on the road.

    current with 33's

Box rocket, I looked at your build and it is exactly the look and feel I am going for. Right now I want to keep the 265's until I can afford the gearing and air lockers( non TRD 4 banger xtra cab, 2001) I have had 3 inch body lifts in the past when I was a young poor teenager and that is why I was cautious of the 1 inch( told myself I would never have a body lift again).

    Thanks Guys.

Here's mine, practically identical to Box Rocket (but no trim packers or extended shackles)

Both of your trucks look awesome. I love the dark forest green color. Are you running the avid off-road bumper? and what size tires you running? 285's?

I have a two inch body lift and I need to install the front brackets. The kit came with two brackets for the side of the bumper. The front looks like it needs two in the front of the bumper as well. Just wanted to know if my kit is complete or am I suppose to have four brackets in all. haha :p thank you
    Also I have a 2001 model tacoma

I have a 1.5” BL on mine, I’ll try to get some updated pictures for you. Mine doesn’t look as good as these other guys

Not the thread jack, but How did you guys do your bumpers with the BL? Mainly the front It doesn’t look like there’s any kinda noticeable gap to even know you have a BL

Why do you want to get the "body as far from the ground as possible?" That's actually the opposite of what you want, at least for off roading.

It's your frame that's more important to get off the ground. A body lift really doesn't do anything for ground clearance (especially break-over clearance) and just makes your center of gravity higher.

You'll get slightly better approach and departure angles with a BL, but aftermarket bumpers are WAY better for that.

I would start with your suspension lift, and go from there. If there is something specific that can't be addressed with your suspension setup or a few hammer blows to the pinch weld, then maybe consider a body lift.

I've seen a few people that need a little extra clearance for a custom exhaust or something like that, but other than that there is no real advantage to them other than looks.

A lot of kits come with brackets to raise the bumpers.
